Special Guest Speaker: Chris Evert
We are excited to have Chris Evert as our guest speaker. She is a tennis legend. Chris Evert was ranked #1 in the world
for seven years, holds 157 single titles, and was named “Top 50 Athletes of the 20th Century” by ESPN. In 1995, Chris
Evert was the fourth player ever to be elected unanimously into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. She was the sole
inductee for that year.
Chris retired from Professional Tennis in September 1989, after her final match in the U.S. Open. One month later, she was hosting the
first Chris Evert Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic in Boca Raton, Florida. Over $20.6 million dollars of donated funds has been distributed to
worthwhile programs all over Florida. The Chris Evert Children’s Hospital at Broward Health Medical Center, named after Broward native
Chris Evert, is one of less than 200 facilities recognized in the United States by the National Association of Children’s Hospitals. In 2006, the
children’s hospital opened a newly renovated, expanded pediatric sedation unit, the only one in Broward County. The pediatric sedation
unit specializes in the safest techniques for pediatric sedation. In November 2007, the Chris Evert Children’s Hospital at Broward General
received the Ernest Amory Codman Award for their advances in pediatric sedation.
During a question and answer session, Chris will discuss lessons learned about remaining competitive during challenging times.

Strategies And Trend Monitoring That Drives Significant
Savings For Hospitals Across The U.S.
One of the C-Suite’s responsibilities is to lead their organization and provide strategic guidance through the maze of Healthcare Reform. These leaders must be
able to use metrics that create accountability for the whole organization. Additionally, they must be results-orientated and clear a pathway for generating deep,
sustainable solutions for their hospitals. For leaders, many questions arise when expense reduction is considered as a solution.
VIE Healthcare uses best practices in strategic cost reduction to achieve savings for hospitals nationwide. We have unique insight into areas that other
consultants routinely miss. Our industry knowledge is coupled with an innovative, replicable and viable approach, and our mission is rooted in our keen,
atypical processes. We have used our distinctive methodology to realize savings of more than $350 million over the last 14 years, including $10 million
dollars saved at just one Georgia Hospital.
VIE Healthcare has partnered with the Georgia Hospital Health Services to provide you with a complementary expense reduction symposium, What
The C-Suite Needs to Know About Expense Reduction Initiatives. We will provide a road map for the C-Suite that assists in the following areas:
Operating Room Optimization, Vendor Negotiations, Purchased Service Contracts, Engaging Employees for Cost Savings Ideas, Utilization and Resource
