After approving the October minutes, the treasurer’s
and librarian’s reports were
presented, and the bills were
approved and paid at the St.
Elmo Library District Board
meeting held Nov. 13 at the
St. Elmo Public Library.
Wayne Moran reported
that internet at Beecher City
and Brownstown is very
slow. Cameras and monitors
have arrived.
So far there are two running for board positions.
Petitions must be delivered
to the Fayette County Courthouse in Vandalia by Jan. 29.
Billie Enlow, JoAn Evans
and Kim Karnes attended
the Serials in Polaris class.
St. Elmo will keep magazines for two years and
Beecher City and Brownstown for one year. Employee Christmas party will be
on Dec. 16. The next employee meeting is scheduled
for February.
St. Elmo fifth grade
classes were at the St. Elmo
Public Library on Nov. 10
and met with veterans for a
Veteran’s Day celebration.
Fifty kids and 12 helpers attended the After School Club
on Nov. 13. The reader was
Officer Rich. Family Reading
Night was held on Nov. 20.
Boy Scouts plan to go to the
museum at 6 p.m. on Dec. 11
for a field trip.
St. Elmo librarians are
proposing a family movie
night with a free will donation.
An outside light at the St.
Elmo Public Library is not
working.
Evans reported that 112
kids now have cards at the
Beecher City Grade School.
On Nov. 14, the kindergarten
class will go to the Beecher
City Branch Library for a
field trip. There are still
problems with the toilet.
Evans presented final three
drafts of design. The board
liked the red one, but choice
will depend on whether it
will fade. They will go with
black if fading is an issue. A
motion by Naomi Jennings,
seconded by Guy Wegscheid, to adopt Ordinance
2014-5 the Annual Levy
Ordinance for Fiscal Year
July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015,
passed.
The St. Elmo Public Library would like to get rid of
an old television and posted
a sign-up sheet for anyone
interested in computer
classes.
