The Open Innovation Hub for Antimicrobial Surfaces Surface Characterisation Workshop 3rd December 2014 10am – 2pm University of Liverpool, Surface Science Research Centre, Oxford Street, Liverpool, L69 3BX The Open Innovation Hub for Antimicrobial Surfaces is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary initiative to help develop new surface and materials technologies. The aim of the workshop is for industrial users (large multinationals to SMEs) to learn about the latest techniques for surface and materials characterisation. There will also be the opportunity to discuss your characterisation needs. Presentations will be given by leading practitioners on the following techniques and their applications: • • • • • X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) Raman Micro-Spectroscopy Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM) Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) Other complementary Surface Characterisation techniques The opportunity for networking and a tour of our facilities is available. Lunch and Refreshments will also be provided. Opportunities for further collaboration Through funding via the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Open Innovation Hub are able to offer free business assistance to SMEs within the Merseyside area. This assistance could include; • Analysis using our state-of-the-art equipment, • Consultation with our multidisciplinary team • The collection and reporting of data, • Preparation of technical reports • or joining collaboration programmes. By utilising our facilities and expertise, we believe that we can provide real added value to your company, whilst fulfilling our goal of creating a link between businesses to state-of-the-art technology and leading expertise.
