WELCOME PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE As we close the year, we have had some significant changes with staff worth noting. Our Supervisor, Darren Peterson was given a promotion and has left Trout Lake. Darren has been here since the new Centre opened. Darren demonstrated exceptional leadership and we are very grateful for all the time and effort he has given our community. We wish him continued success! During the time that the hiring process took to replace Darren, Eva Srobotniak stepped into the interim role of Acting Supervisor. Big thanks to her for keeping the centre humming along! I am happy to introduce Ian Broadbent as our new Supervisor. Ian brings valuable experience from the YMCA and we are excited to have him take the reins. As always, we have a full complement of programming courtesy of our fabulous Programmers, Eva and Ny. I also want to acknowledge Laura and front counter staff for the great work they do and all our PA’s who also go above and beyond. As for me this past year, it had its usual ups and downs. I continue to be at the table with Park Board to try and get a new deal done that reflects the needs of both parties and honours the partnership that has been in place for over 40 years. Some acknowledgements to the people I work with on our Board. They are an exciting and dedicated bunch of folks that I am honoured to stand with. In particular, I would like to mention specifically, Susan Gordon, who is stepping down this year. Sue has given her time, wisdom and leadership with her tenure with us and I am sad to see her go, but know that she will not be a stranger. Thank you Sue!! Happy Winter, Kate Grandview Community Centre Association Board of Directors MISSION STATEMENT WHY A BOARD?
