Removal of Redundant Crossovers and Delta
Road Bridge Track Slews
To be read in conjunction with
Train Alteration Advice (TAA) No 1073-2014
Commencing at 0600 hours Monday 17th November 2014 to 2000 hours Friday
21st November 2014 or until the works are completed, the following work will be
carried out as part of the Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group (NCIG) Stage 2F
‘Flyover’ project.
NCIG will permanently remove two (2) decommissioned crossovers as follows;

The decommissioned 171 crossover from departure road 2 to departure road
1 will be permanently removed.
The decommissioned 172 crossover from departure road 1 to departure road
2 will be permanently removed.
NCIG will install a new three-track signal gantry on the arrival roads at 172.666km.
Three new uncommissioned signals will be installed as follows;

NG55 will be installed on arrival road 3
NG57 will be installed on arrival road 2
NG59 will be installed on arrival road 1.
The uncommissioned signals will have a large white “X” hung over each signal.
NCIG will also slew arrival roads 1 and 2 and departure road 2 across the Delta
Road Bridge to facilitate the construction of the new departure road 1. A section of
new departure road 1 will be constructed across Delta Road Bridge.
Signal Arrangements:
There are no changes to the functionality of the signalling system in this stage.
Note: Number 60(S)C and 62(S)C signal routes remain temporarily booked out of
use. 176 points and 177 and 178 crossovers remain spiked and secured with two
points clips and XL locks in the normal position.

Safeworking Arrangements:
An infrastructure Booking Authority (ANRF003) must be compiled as per ANWT 312
and ANPR 704 to book out of use and back into use, commission and permanently
remove infrastructure.
SAFE Notice recipients must ensure this SAFE Notice is circulated to and
understood by all personnel affected by, or needing to know, its content.
SAFE Notices must be issued to all affected Qualified Workers.
Qualified Workers who receive a SAFE Notice must follow the requirements in the
SAFE Notice.
