Adjourn The next Environmental Commission Meeting will be held December 17, 2014 in the Cascade/Whitewater Room – 2100 Campus Drive SE, Rochester MN 55904 2 Required Environmental Commission Action Environmental Awards Nominations The Environmental Commission is again co-hosting the annual environmental awards program with Rochester Public Utilities. The awards program will be held on January 22, 2015. Nominations are sought for individuals, families, youth, organizations, or businesses in any or all categories: climate change, conservation, education, energy, renewables, water, sustainable food production, and other. The Commission is responsible to select the award recipients. Destination Medical Center The Environmental Commission is acting under the authority granted by the County Board to develop, review or recommend environmental policies and priorities to the County Board and Environmental Management Team (EMT). No specific action is required. 3 Environmental Commission Meeting Minutes Wednesday, October 15, 2014 Members Present: Char Brown, Laura Forsman, Grace Greason, Haley Johnson, Irv Plitzuweit, Roger Richardson, James Schumann, Norman Senjem, and Paul Wilson Staff Present: Sandi Goslee, John Harford, John Helmers, Terry Lee, Brittney Marschall, and Anthony Wittmer Guests Present: Jeff Broberg (McGhie & Betts), Michael Brown (Private Citizen), Luis Cornego (Private Citizen), Mark Hanson (M&H Inc.), and Anna Richey (Conservation Minnesota) 1. Call to Order – Laura Forsman Laura Forsman called the meeting to order at 7:15 pm. • Approve Minutes of September 17, 2014 Meeting Char Brown moved and Norman Senjem seconded the motion to approve the minutes. Motion carried (8 Ayes, 0 Nays). 2. Land Use Plan Map Amendment #02014-002LUPA– Sandi Goslee Irv Plitzuweit moved and James Schumann seconded the motion to approve the checklist as complete. Motion carried (8 Ayes, 0 Nays). 3. SSTS Ordinance Public Meetings –John Helmers & John Harford County staff presented information for the hearings that will be held in Byron and Eyota for the proposed septic system ordinance. 4. Update from EC Subcommittee on Trends- Norman Senjem There will be a presentation at next month’s meeting covering the Destination Medical Center. 6.
