PCACE PRO32 ICD-10 Acknowledgement Testing Week Software
Instructions
The following instructional guide is for providers who use PC-ACE Pro32 and wish to submit
ICD-10 Test Claims. If you have any general questions about the ICD-10 testing process,
please visit http://www.ngscedi.com/icd10
Activating ICD-10:
In order to activate the ICD-10 code list in PC-ACE Pro32, open the software and wait until
you see the main menu. From the main menu, click the link that says "File", then click
"Preferences".
When the Preferences menu opens, it should look similar to the image below:
While this menu is open, hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard and press the number
7. Pressing SHIFT+7 will create new tabs on the Preferences menu.
Click the tab on the very right which reads "System (3)". On this tab, you will see an option
which reads "Enable support for ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes". Place a checkmark
next to this box. Your screen should look exactly like it does in the image below:
Once the checkmark is placed, locate the option which reads “Configure Professional/Dental
ICD-10 Transition Rules” and click “Configure Rules” button next to it.
When you click the button, you will see a new window similar to the one below:
Click the button at the bottom-left which reads “New” and another window will open. In this
new window, you must enter the following information exactly as shown below:
Click the OK button on this window, then click OK on the “ICD Version Control Settings”
window, and finally click OK on the Preferences window. This will create a pop-up message
on your screen similar to the following:
Click the OK button, then completely Exit out of PC-ACE Pro32. After the software has fully
closed, you are ready to open it again and use ICD-10 codes.
To test ICD-10 codes, create a claim and go to the Billing Line Items tab. If you right-click
inside one of the Diagnosis Code boxes, you will see a screen like below:
You can click the tab which reads "ICD-10" and this will allow you to select any ICD-10
code.
Once you have saved your new ICD-10 claim, you MUST prepare the claim as a Test batch.
Go to the Prepare Claims menu and change the Submission Status to "Test". Once this is
done, click "Prepare Claims".
You should now be able to upload this batch through your Network Service Vendor as
normal. After your Test batch is submitted, please be sure to check the 999 and 277CA files
that are created. This will let you know if your ICD-10 claim has any errors or not.
Deactivating ICD-10:
When you are ready to stop testing and resume normal claim submission, please remember
to deactivate ICD-10. In order to do so, simply return to the “System (3)” menu and
uncheck the box next to "Enable support for ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes".
End-to-End Testing:
If you were one of the few providers approved to participate in the limited End-to-End
Testing program, it is highly recommended that you view our documentation for creating
those claims. Go to http://www.ngscedi.com/pcace and click the PDF document titled
“PCACE Pro32 End-to-End Claims Creation Procedure”.
