ACTIVITIES IMPLEMENTED BY THE MINISTRY:
Increasing financial access to additional medical services to the
population through target programs acting within the Ministry;
Funding of the medicines needed for target and
immunotherapeutic treatment of oncological patients and
bisphosphonate group of medication;
Full funding of the patients affected by natural disasters;
Increasing nosology number, tariff and proportions to be
financed;
Reforms for better identification of the beneficiaries (social
categories) of target programs;
Practical introduction of electronic state procurement system.

IMPLEMENTED AND ONGOING PROJECTS IN
COOPERATION WITH DONOR ORGANIZATIONS
Full rehabilitation of “Rehabilitation Center TANA” by “TIKA” to
support integration of the disabled into society;
Project for the development of Ajara Observatory of Labor market
and Economic Forecasting was elaborated within the frame of “Polish
AID 2014” by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland to further assist in
defining institutional, legal and organizational system in the field of
labor market and entrepreneurship;
Purchasing vehicles for transportation of village doctors in
cooperation with United Nations Fund “UNFPA” to increase access to
medical service for village population;
Launching of the project “Reintegration Aid for Migrants in Georgia”
with the support of the International Migration Organization to ensure
support for the newly-migrated.
PRIORITIES











To improve public health, geographical and financial access to effective
medical services, to provide quality medical services, to ensure patients’
safety and protection of their rights;
To construct Batumi Republic Clinical Hospital, to fully rehabilitate Batumi
Infectious Pathology, AIDs and TB Center and equip with modern facilities
and qualified personnel;
To preserve existing medical institutions and handing available materialtechnical base to the medical personnel;
To support private medical sector;
To facilitate development of medical rehabilitation centers;
To increase financial access of the population to medical services;
To improve primary healthcare center services in villages, to enhance their
communication and mobility;
To expand and accomplish social services and aid;
Social adaptation of the disabled and support to raising the quality of their
lives;
To develop Medical Tourism;
To ensure professional qualification of the employed medical personnel.
