Travelling uphill or downhill or over longer distances is very strenuous or even impossible, causing the arms to tire quickly. Power add-on drives for manual wheelchairs are small but highly effective. They are easy to install on the wheelchair and, depending on the model, boost or replace the effort expended by the user. Yet the wheelchair remains as manoeuvrable and easy to transport as ever. From the z10 push and brake assist for the attendant to the e-support as an add-on drive that boosts residual strength or the z50 add-on drive with joystick - we offer optimised individual solutions for any user. 10 Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH | Power Add-on Drives 1 11 z10 The z10 Does Double Duty With the z10 add-on drive, you decide what you want to do today. As a push and brake assist, it makes it easier for the attendant to push the wheelchair over longer distance or on uneven surfaces. But the z10 can also be converted into an add-on drive with intuitive steering electronics in a few simple steps (z10-ce product version). Then you drive the wheelchair yourself without expending energy - and decide where you want to go. A clever alternative to a power wheelchair or scooter. Thanks to the powerful drive system with suspension, the z10 offers optimised operating performance - even on uneven surfaces or slopes. With the innovative lithium battery, you also benefit from an unheard-of approximate driving range of up to 32 km. 12 Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH | Power Add-on Drives z50 z10 13 z10 14 Lithium battery z10-ce driving module for retrofitting Control panel with driving levers Click mechanism, tiller control Wheel lock release Swinging anti-tipper Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH | Power Add-on Drives z10 15 16 Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH | Power Add-on Drives z10 Product Features • push and brake assist can be retrofitted for independent driving at any time •suitable for negotiating slopes of up to 20% and crossing obstacles up to 5 cm in height •tiller control removable via click mechanism •optimum traction •battery - approximate driving range up to 25 km •manoeuvrable and easy to transport •swinging anti-tipper for driving over curbs •special charger for charging on the product or separately •extremely service-friendly thanks to modular product design •programmable drive-away lock Technical Data z10 Push and Brake Assist z10-ce Add-On Drive with Tiller Control Drive type worm gear, rear drive worm gear, rear drive Max speed up to 6 km/h, 5 levels, continuous within a maximum speed level Precise control up to 6 km/h, 5 levels, continuous precise control within a maximum speed level Steering tiller control tiller control Approximate driving range 25 km according to ISO 7176-4 25 km according to ISO 7176-4 Maximum permissible ascent up to 20% up to 20% Standard maximum obstacle height 6 cm 4 cm Drive wheel 10“, puncture-proof, gray 10“, puncture-proof, gray Steering caster not relevant 8“ dual wheel, puncture-proof Anti-tipper swinging anti-tipper swinging anti-tipper Drive unit weight (without battery) 21 kg 21 kg Steering unit weight tiller control with control panel, approx. 1.5 kg tiller control with control panel, approx. 1.5 kg Battery pack weight 3.8 kg 3.8 kg z10-ce steering caster unit with adapter not relevant 8.0 kg z10 total weight 26.3 kg 34.3 kg Maximum load capacity (incl. wheelchair) 160 kg 160 kg Minimum load capacity 20 kg 20 kg Battery lithium-ion battery 24 V 18.4 Ah lithium-ion battery 24 V 18.4 Ah Charging time (battery drained) ca. 4 h ca. 4 h Electronic enAble 40 enAble 40 Operating voltage 24 V DC 24 V DC Motor power 100 W 100 W Light module (front) not relevant optional: Hella HL 2000 Minimum seat height/Seat width of the wheelchair 38 cm/38 cm 38 cm/38 cm Compatible Otto Bock wheelchairs Start M1/M2/M3/M4/M5, Motus, Avantgarde T/VR/XXL2 Start M1/M2/M3/M4/M5, Motus, Avantgarde T/VR/XXL2 Compatible third-party wheelchairs adaptable to most wheelchair models common in the market adaptable to most wheelchair models common in the market For more information see order form z10 17 e-support For more Independence and Quality for Life On vacation or in everyday life – every day presents new demands. To be able to overcome obstacles on one‘s own in a wheelchair means more independence and mobility. Here, the e-support will prove a reliable partner that will allow you to easily explore new terrain. Using the e-support involves moving the arms and thus promotes the user‘s activity, resulting in an additional therapeutic effect. For a Wider Range of Activity The e-support is a servo accessory drive for manual wheelchairs and is operated with push rings. Highly sensitive sensors measure the manual force applied to the rear wheels. That force is then reinforced electrically. Two electric motors integrated into the hubs ensure a dosed yet sufficient power boost. The boost provides 1.5 or even 3 times as much power as the regular arm strength of the user. For periods when the e-support is not required, the wheelchair can be retrofitted in a few simple steps, and even if equipped with this accessory drive, the manual wheelchair can be folded to its conventional folded size for storage. 18 Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH | Power Add-on Drives e-support 19 e-support Battery pack ON/OFF switch Adapter plate e-support mounted on a Bravo Racer 20 Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH | Power Add-on Drives e-support 21 e-support mounted on an avantgarde 22 Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH | Power Add-on Drives e-support Product Features • multiplies the user‘s residual arm strength •two drive wheels, complete, with integrated motor and electronics •product version A suitable for active wheelchair users (arm strength boost up to 1.5 times, optimum support, especially when driving up or down steep slopes) •product version B suitable for wheelchair users with low arm strength (arm strength boost up to 3 times, optimum support on the level and on slight slopes) •nickel-metal hybrid battery, also as interchangeable, rechargeable battery •charging station for easy charging (85-275 V) •also with mounted drive wheels, the wheelchair remains foldable •optional 22“ drive wheels Technical Data Drive type wheel hub motor, direct rear wheel drive Max speed up to 6 km/h Steering push ring activation right and left (manual wheelchair principle) Approximate driving range up to 15 km Maximum permissible ascent depending on manual wheelchair Standard maximum obstacle height depending on manual wheelchair Anti-tipper depending on manual wheelchair 24“ drive wheel weight right: 7 kg, left: 6 kg Electronics weight integrated into the drive wheels Battery pack weight 2.9 kg Total weight 16 kg Maximum load capacity (incl. wheelchair) 120 kg Battery nickel-metal-hydride (NiMh) 24 V 6.7 Ah Charging time (battery drained) quick charge process 2.5 h, refresh charge process 9.5 h Electronic integrated into the drive wheels Motor power 2 x 90 W Maximum torque type A: 25 Nm, type B: 20 Nm Compatible Otto Bock wheelchairs Start M2/M3/M5, Avantgarde VR/T, Motus Compatible third-party wheelchairs adaptable to most wheelchair models common in the market For more information see order form e-support 23 z50 For More Freedom in Everyday Life Who hasn‘t wished for a wider range of action and mobility? The power wheelchair is narrow, fast, and maneuverable. Children can easily explore every corner of even narrow rooms – they are more mobile and independent. In this way, Skippi supports your child’s urge to move and explore. Skippi’s colorful design is also appealing. Rest After a Day’s Adventures It takes just one step to adjust the position of the seat and backrest comfortably to the needs of your child, so it is no problem to do this in the course of a day. Your child can be actively involved in the events of the day whilst in an upright position and than relax after the day‘s adventures in a reclined or tilted position. Skippi can be disassembled in a few simple steps and stowed away in the trunk of any small car. This allows you to take Skippi on vacations and excursions – without any second thoughts. It is not hard to become familiar with Skippi: The display on the operating console has child-friendly graphics to indicate the currently selected mode. And: Skippi grows with your child. The depth and width of the seat as well as the position and angle of the leg can be easily adjusted to the body size of your child. This makes it possible to use the wheelchair for a longer time. Skippi offers countless equipment options that can actively encourage the development of the child. The wheelchair, for example, can be equipped with electrical back angle adjustment, seat tilt, seating shell adapter, controls for the attendant, a tray, bumper bar and seating shell adapter. It is also easy to incorporate different footrests and headrest systems. Your rehab technician will give you precise information on the options and help you configure a wheelchair that suits your child. We also offer Skippi with lighting on request. This lets your child drive safely outside and discover the world actively. 80 Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH | Power Wheelchairs SKIPPI 81 Skippi/SKippi+ Easily removable 31 Ah C20 battery packs, self-contacting Skippi in silver/black design Anti-tipper and bumper for posterior frame Control console with display and easy-to-understand symbols Swing-away footrest Rear wheels with wheel cover Colorful design for children 82 Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH | Power Wheelchairs SKIPPI 83 Options Bumper bar Electrical back angle adjustment • changing of sitting position • rest position • selection between two levels: · 81°-121° · 90°-120° Mygo seat Seat tilt • for relief from the sitting position • mechanically via gas compression spring • electrical • continuous adjustment from 0°-25° Mini joystick •several special electronics can adapted on the Skippi+ Seat lift function •20 cm continuous seat height adjustment 84 Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH | Power Wheelchairs Skippi/skippi+ Product Features •stable aluminum construction •growing with the Child •colorful design for children •easy to disassemble yellow RAL 1023 red RAL 3001 blue silver metallic Technical Data Max speed 6.0 km/h Battery capacity 31 Ah (C20) Approximate driving range 25 km Charging time 12h Electronic enAble40/enAble50 for SKIPPI+ Weight when empty 68 kg Maximum load capacity 50 kg Standard maximum obstacle height 5 cm Maximum permissible ascent 12 % Overall width 57 cm Overall length with legrests 85 cm Turning radius 55 cm Seat height (without cushion) 43 cm Seat width 26–38 cm Seat depth 30–37cm Seat inclination 0°/3°/6 ° Back angle -9°/1°/11°/21° or 0°/10°/20°/30° Seat tilt 20° mechanically or electrically Back height 34–46 cm Armrest height 16–27 cm Lower leg length 11–26 cm Frame color yellow RAL 1023,+ red RAL 3001,+ blue, silver metallic For more information see order form SKIPPI 85 Special Controls The Best Solution for all Cases Mobility Solutions from Otto Bock focus on offering people self-determination in their lives. For the very first time, it provides an opportunity to become familiar with the operation of a power wheelchair without ever sitting in one. WheelSim can be used to experience power wheelchairs and controls in various operating situations – without any risk to the user. In addition, it is possible to become familiar with various Otto Bock special controls, thereby eliminating fears and inhibitions. The goal of the program is to allow children or first-time users to testdrive virtual wheelchairs in clinics, schools, therapy organizations, medical supply companies, or at home on their PC. Greater familiarity with the driving characteristics of a power wheelchair improves operator safety. WheelSim offers customized driver training. The user can select the training level or one of three challenge levels. The training level permits “free operation” in an unlimited space. Each challenge level takes the user through a wheelchair course. The degree of difficulty increases from level to level; for example, the user has to navigate tighter turns, bridges, or street crossings. Thanks to detailed evaluation options, the program can be used as a diagnostic or therapeutic tool. It can also be used as an exciting game of skill. The WheelSim simulation program is already available commercially. As a manufacturer of power wheelchairs, we have adapted it to our products. This provides our specialist dealers with the novel option of using the program as a sales tool for Otto Bock products.
