WMI and Coram Students Chosen to Participate in
SCMEA PEAK Festival

Middle Island, NY, November 25, 2014 –Longwood School District is proud to announce that
six students from Coram Elementary School and four students from West Middle Island
Elementary school were nominated to participate at the Sixth Annual Suffolk County Music
Educators’ Association (SCMEA) Parent Educators and Kids (PEAK) Music Festival at
Northport High School on Saturday, November 15, 2014.
Dedicated to helping fourth-graders learn and experience music, PEAK is a full-day workshop
where young musicians are provided with the opportunity to perform with other Suffolk students.
Enthusiastic teachers, educators, parents and children participated in interesting and unique
workshop sessions, including folk dance, boom whackers, ukulele, recorder, musical theater,
singing games, chorus and more.
