An arbitration procedure is provided for in the FEI Statutes and General Regulations
referred to above. In accordance with this procedure, any appeal against a decision
rendered by the FEI or its official bodies is to be settled exclusively by the Court of
Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

It is the responsibility of NFs to ensure their participants are of the correct age.
This schedule is approved, provided the corrections and additions as made by the
FEI have been made. The National Federation and Organising committee are
obliged to ensure that the mandatory sections in the approved schedule is
forwarded to guest NFs and Officials for their information.

NOTICE FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL EVENTS
Any competitions other than those covered in the Rules for Jumping Events must be
approved by the FEI before they may be added to the schedule
Schedules for CSI Cat. A for P/Ch/J/YR/V, CSIs 3*, 4*, 5*, CSIOs, CSI-Ws and
Championships are approved by the FEI.
Schedules for these events must be sent to the FEI Secretariat for approval by the
NF concerned, at least 16 weeks before the event is due to take place.
Final approval of the draft schedule by the FEI, in accordance with Art. 115.1,
denotes only that the contents conform to the FEI Statutes, General Regulations
and Rules. By no means does this entail implicit acceptance of any liability by the
FEI for any damages to third parties caused by the Organising Committee and its
officials, riders, drivers, owners, and their horses.
IMPORTANT

For the CSI5* AOIHS the FEI Ranking list number 77, established two months prior
to this event, will be used for the selection of riders.
Competitors are invited by the Organizing Committee through their NF.

(Hotel rooms and breakfast are provided free of charge, beverages and other extras
at their own costs).

Hotel accommodation is reserved by the Organizing Committee. Reservations are
accepted from CSI 5* AOIHS, which pays for a period from July 30th to August 6th.
If one prolongs his stay at this Hotel, it will be at his own expense. If the provided
Hotel arrangements are changed, it will also be at the expenses of the person
concerned.
III.
ENTRIES
Entries are accepted subject to any unforeseen circumstances including but not
limited to military exigencies, strikes, or other civil disturbances, fire or other
contingencies of any description preventing or rendering it undesirable in the opinion
of the Organizing Committee for the Show to take place.
All entries shall stand for any postponed Show unless withdrawn by written notice to
the Show Secretary within one week of notification or public announcement in the
press of such postponement.
The postponement or abandonment of the Show either before the opening or at any
time during the course of the Show shall not give rise to any claim whatever against
the Show or the Organizing Committee by the competitors or others.
The Organizing Committee may at their absolute discretion, with Ground Jury
approval, remove any person or animal from the event without being liable for any
compensation. No decision may however be taken by the Organizing Committee
relating to riders and/or horses participating in international competition without the
approval of the Ground Jury.
Withdrawals after the date of definite entries or no-shows will be held liable to
reimburse the OC for the actual financial loss incurred by the OC (i.e. horse
transportation, stabling and hotel expenses) as a result of the late withdrawal or noshow.

B) GROOMS
The O.C. will provide proper accommodation for the grooms. The O.C. will contact
invited riders to know the exact number of female and male grooms to provide the
accommodations.
Cost of accommodation will be at the cost of OC from the arrival to August 6.
Meals: at OC expense from the arrival to August 6 at showgrounds and hotel.
Extra expenses in the hotel, like food and phone will not be covered by OC.
C) HORSES / PONIES
The O.C. will pay all the expenses involving the transportation of the horses of the
riders invited from Europe to São Paulo, and back to Europe of the following NFs:
Australia, Austria, Brazil, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Ireland,
Switzerland, Holland, Great Britain, and France. The riders invited will be responsible
for the costs of the horses’ transportation from home to airport, and from the airport
back to home. The O.C. will pay the expenses for 2 horses per rider maximum.
For the horses from Canada, Mexico and USA, that will compete in the Pan American
Games, the O.C. will only pay expenses of the transportation Rio de Janeiro-São
Paulo-Rio de Janeiro by truck.

D) WELCOME
The O.C. is providing all the facilities, including the build of 3m x 3m temporary boxes
in the airport, veterinary assistance, etc., to receive the horses; contacting the
sanitary and customs authorities to facilitate the arrival and departure of the horses as
quickly as possible.

The competitors are authorised to carry the logo of their personal sponsor on the
saddle cloth in accordance with Art. 136.1-2. The Chief Steward will check that the
advertising and publicity on competitors and horses complies with Article 136 of the
General Regulations.
6. MISCELLANEOUS
A) STARTS
Horses can starts on competitions only once a day.
B) GROUP A and GROUP B
The Group A riders are automatically qualified to participate in class I 6, the
€ 300.000 “Grand Prix GCT” and in class I 8 “Nestlé Masters”.
Group B riders have to qualify to show in these competitions. Top 2 Group B
riders in class I 2 will start in class I 6 “Grand Prix GCT”, and Top 2 Group B
riders in class I 4 will start in class I 8 “Nestlé Masters”.
The Group A will have 48 riders.
The Group B will have 31 riders + 1 FEI W.C.
Maximum 50 riders will start in the class I 6 Grand Prix Champions Tour.
Maximum 50 riders will start in the class I 8 Nestlé Masters.

E) PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY
The owner of the winning horse is invited to the prize giving ceremony for the Grand
Prix.
Top 6 in each competition will be invite to present themselves for prize-giving
ceremony.
All horses must be paraded whenever so ordered by the Organizing Committee or an
authorized show official. Any failure to comply with this rule may result in
disqualification from competing and forfeiture of prizes, at the discretion of the
Ground Jury.
F) DEDUCTIONS FROM PRIZE MONEY
There will be deductions according to Brazilian Law.
Competitors living in Brazil: 0 to 27,5 per cent
Competitors not living in Brazil: 25 per cent
G) INSURANCES
The Organizing Committee does not accept responsibility for any accidents which happen to
owners, participants, grooms, to or because of their horses to third parties in whichever
circumstances, inside or outside the showgrounds, during, before or after competitions. The
civil and financial responsibility of the Organizing Committee and its cooperators will never be
liable in any circumstance.
All owners and competitors are personally responsible for damages to third parties caused by
themselves, their employees, their agents or their horses. They are therefore strongly advised
to take out third-party insurance providing full coverage for participation in equestrian events at
home and abroad, and to keep the policy up to date.
The Organizing Committee (including their employees, representatives and show officials) will
not be responsible for any accident, injury or damage that may occur to, or any illness or
disease which may be contracted by any horse entered at the Show howsoever occurring, and
the competitors shall keep the Organizing Committee indemnified against all liability whatever
arising from any accident, injury, damage, illness or disease.
The Organizers will not be in any way liable for anything that may happen (from any cause or
circumstances whatever) to property brought into the event or for any other loss, claim,
matter, circumstance or event whatever in connection with, or arising out of, or attributable
to the actions of the Organizing Committee (including their employees, representatives and
show officials) or any of their officers, or agents or these or any other rules or regulations
special conditions prescribed by the event.
Each competitor will be considered responsible in all aspects for the attendants in charge of
his horses and for any other servants or agents of his for the consequences of any
infringement by any such persons of these rules and regulations.

VETERINARY MATTERS
1. HORSES INSPECTION
1st Horse Inspection

Time: 8:00h - 12:00h and 14:00h – 18:00h
There will be an other inspection for 3 horses that compete in the National Tour, and
gain the right to compete in the 1.45m class I 8 “Santander Challenge”. Those
mentioned horses will need FEI passports to compete in the CSI 5* AOIHS.
Private veterinarians will have to report to the FEI Veterinary Delegate upon their
arrival at the show grounds, before they will be accredited and be allowed to enter
the restricted area. Under no circumstance will any veterinary surgeon other than
the veterinary commission be allowed to treat any horse at the CSI 5* AOIHS,
unless permission in writing has been received from the FEI Veterinary Delegate.
If permission is given, the veterinary concerned will be accompanied by the FEI
Veterinary Delegate or his representative.
Emergency Contact Stable Cards (ECSC)
ECSCs must be obtained from the stable manager office upon arrival at the event. It
is the responsibility of the rider/groom to complete the card in full and affix to their
horses stable door for the duration of their stay at the show. Whilst every
reasonable effort will be made to contact the owner/person responsible of the
animal, if unsuccessful the Veterinary Surgeon will treat the animal as he finds
necessary.

7. OBJECTIONS/COMPLAINTS
All complaints and objections to be valid must be made in writing and accompanied
by a deposit of CHF 150.- or equivalent.
8. EVENT'S ORGANISATION
In exceptional circumstances, together with the approval of Chefs d'Equipe and Ground Jury the
OC reserves the right to modify the schedule in order to clarify any matter or matters arising
from an omission or due to unforeseen circumstances.
The Organizing Committee reserves to themselves the right to alter the timings or cancel any
of the competitions, as necessities of the programme may require. The Organizing Committee
moreover reserves the right to take all necessary action, including cancelling or shortening
the CSI 5* AOIHS - 2007, due to special and/or unforeseen circumstances, which in the
opinion of the Organizing Committee, would make the continuation of the event unjustified;
any such decision will be taken in agreement with the Secretary General of the FEI.
No consequential liability whatsoever can be accepted in such occasion. Gen.Reg.115.1 and
115.2.
9. ENTRY RIGHT TO SHOWGROUNDS
There will be free access to the show grounds for the competitors, their partners,
grooms, owners of participating horses and officials.
The necessary accreditation should be collected from the secretary’s office upon
arrival. Per competitor 1 groom maximum will be accredited.
A maximum of 2 horse owners per participating horse will be accredited, providing
their names are duly registered as such in the official FEI-passport of the relevant
horse.
Only persons with a valid accreditation will be allowed to enter the restricted area.
Private veterinaries must report to the official FEI Veterinary Delegate, upon arrival
at the show grounds, before they will be accredited and allowed to also enter the
restricted area.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to withdraw, confiscate or otherwise
any passes whether issued with entry or purchased, without refund, immediately in
the event that they are either cut, removed or in any way damaged. Passes are
nontransferable once issued.
All competitors, owners, grooms and other persons must display relevant passes at
all times, otherwise entry will be refused.
10. SCHOOLING DURING COMPETITIONS
Riders wishing to school during speed competitions (Table A and Table C) must inform
the OC before these competitions begin. These riders will start first in these
competitions.
11. START LISTS & RESULT SHEETS
Start Order will be by draw in all classes.
The name of the owner of each horse will be added to all start lists and result
sheets,as well as its stud book initials, country of birth, sex and age.
12. DISPUTES
Image rights
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to use – without any compensation
due – photographs, slides, video tapes or any other (digital) registered picture from
riders and/or horses, made or registered during the CSI 5* AOIHS, for promotional
and/or marketing purposes, related to the event.
It is a condition of entry that all competitors will permit any photographic or filmed
material derived during the course of the event, to be utilized subsequently by the
Organizing Committee for future promotion of their business interests or the show at
no cost to the latter.
Incivility
Any act of discourtesy or disobedience to any judge, steward or any show officials
on the part of the competitor, groom, driver or agent of a horse may at the
discretion of the President of the Ground Jury disqualify that horse from being
judged, in which case prizes and charges will be forfeited.
Acceptance of the conditions of the schedule
By entering a horse into the CSI 5* AOIHS, the Person Responsible fully accepts the
conditions of the schedule and of the program itself, applicable for the competitors,
grooms and the horses.
In the event of any discussion concerning the interpretation of the schedule, the
English version will be decisive.

VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS, HORSE INSPECTIONS & PASSPORT CONTROLS
These will be carried out in accordance with the “Veterinary Regulations”, Art. 1011 & the
discipline rules.
“General Regulations”, 21st Edition, effective 1st January 2005 will apply:
Art. 139.1
Every horse entered for any competition at CNs or ClMs (see Appendix D) in a foreign
country (see GRs 141.2), and all horses entered for other Cls, ClOs, Championships,
Regional and Olympic Games, whether at home or in foreign countries (see GRs 141.2),
must have an official, valid FEI Passport, or a National Passport approved by the FEI and
accompanied by an FEI Recognition Card and, when applicable, an FEI registration
number, as a means of identification and to establish ownership.
Art. 139.2
Horses taking part in CNs and ClMs (see Appendix D) in their country of residence are not
required to have such a passport as is mentioned in paragraph 1. All such horses must be
properly registered and identifiable and, unless there is no national requirement for
equine influenza vaccination in the host country and in the country of origin, all horses
must have a valid vaccination certificate.
EQUINE INFLUENZA VACCINATION, VET. REGS. ANNEX VII (except events taking
place in NZL & AUS)
All horses and ponies for which an FEI Passport, or a National Passport approved by the
FEI has been issued, must have the vaccination section endorsed by a veterinarian,
stating that it has received two injections for primary vaccination against equine
influenza, given between 1 and 3 months apart. In addition, a booster injection must be
recorded as having been given within each succeeding 6 months, subsequent to the
second injection of the primary vaccination. None of these injections must have been
given within the preceding 7 days including the day of the competition or of entry into the
competition stables.
The above are the minimum requirements for influenza vaccination. Both primary and
first and subsequent booster injections should be given according to the manufacturer's
instructions which will fall within the stipulation of the FEI ruling.
SAMPLING FOR PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES (Vet. Regs. Chapter V & VI and
Annex IV)
Regular sampling is carried out in CCI3*/4*, CSIs (3*, 4*, 5*), CIOs, World Cup
Qualifiers and Finals, Championships and Games, whereas at other CIs sampling is
recommended. When testing takes place, the number of horses tested is at the discretion
of the Testing Veterinarian/Veterinary Delegate; however, a minimum of three is
recommended (Vet. Regs. Art. 1016)
Special guidelines are applicable for events covered by the FEI Medication Control
Programme (Groups I & II only).
MEDICATION CONTROL PROGRAMME (GROUP I & II ONLY)
The Organising Committees of FEI events within Groups I & II are advised to charge
competitors the equivalent of CHF 12.50 per horse per event as a contribution towards
the costs of the MCP programme.
2. VETERINARY ASPECTS "B"
A) HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ENTRY OF HORSES
Details on compulsory health tests and, where applicable, quarantine period and
protocol, etc. PLEASE APPEND SPECIMEN IMPORT LICENCES WHICH WILL BE
APPLIED TO HORSES ATTENDING THIS EVENT. In case of doubt or problems,
please contact the FEI Veterinary Department as soon as possible.
B) CUSTOMS FORMALITIES
NFs holding an international event in their country should inform their National Veterinary
Authority and their Customs Authority at least four weeks beforehand. They should
request every facility to assist the movement of horses accompanied by FEI Passports,
and the necessary veterinary certification at frontier crossing points into and out of their
countries. (Vet. Regs. Art. 1004.2)
C) MCP CENTRAL LABORATORY - APPLICABLE ONLY TO GROUPS I & II
Under the Medication Control Programme (MCP) in Groups I and II, all samples collected
in accordance with Vet. Regs Art. 1016 will be analysed by the Laboratoire des Courses
Hippiques (LCH), 15, rue de Paradis, F-91370 Verrières le Buisson. The central
MCP Laboratory will be reviewed in June 2009. Please refer to FEI Bulletin for further
information. For events other than those listed in Vet. Regs Art. 1016 or for events other
than in Groups I and II, samples may be analysed at an alternative FEI listed laboratory
(Vet Regs Art. 1021).
THE FEI CODE OF CONDUCT
FOR THE WELFARE OF THE HORSE
The Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) expects all those involved in international
equestrian sport to adhere to the FEI’s Code of Conduct and to acknowledge and accept
that at all times the welfare of the horse must be paramount and must never be
subordinated to competitive or commercial influences.
1.
At all stages during the preparation and training of competition horses, welfare must
take precedence over all other demands. This includes good horse management,
training methods, farriery and tack, and transportation.
2.
Horses and competitors must be fit, competent and in good health before they are
allowed to compete. This encompasses medication use, surgical procedures that
threaten welfare or safety, pregnancy in mares and the misuse of aids.
3.
Events must not prejudice horse welfare. This involves paying careful attention to the
competition areas, ground surfaces, weather conditions, stabling, site safety and
fitness of the horse for onward travel after the event.
4.
Every effort must be made to ensure that horses receive proper attention after they
have competed and that they are treated humanely when their competition careers
are over. This covers proper veterinary care, competition injuries, euthanasia and
retirement.
5.
The FEI urges all involved with the sport to attain the highest levels of
education in their areas of expertise.
