Club Information
Becoming a Member or Renewing Membership
The Boys & Girls Club is open to any child age 7–18 from any community. New and returning members
must fill out an application and pay the $25 membership fee. Applications for membership are available
at the front desk and on our website. The $25 membership allows students to participate in our drop in
program throughout 2014-2015 school year. Members must bring their card to check in each time they
visit the Club. Replacement cards cost $1. There will be a .25 cent fee or 5 push-ups/sit-ups for each
time a member forgets their card. Scanning cards helps our staff be more efficient and effective.
Open Door Policy: Parents are reminded that the Boys & Girls Club has an OPEN DOOR Policy and
the staff supervision is limited to Club property. We recommend that parents set firm rules with their
children about leaving the Club. The playground and parks in front of the Boys & Girls Club are NOT
Club property.

A safe, positive environment: The Boys & Girls Club
Staff, facilities, program offerings and age appropriate settings
produce continuity, predictability, and a sense of physical and emotional
safety for members. The Club sets clear boundaries and rules that provide
structure and help us fulfill our mission of enabling all young people,
especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as
productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Supportive relationships with peers and adults: Boys & Girls Club Staff
members actively cultivate such relationships to ensure every member
feels connected to one or more adults and can forge friendships with peers.
Staff members demonstrate warmth, caring, appreciation, acceptance, and
guidance in their interactions with members.
Opportunities and expectations: Boys & Girls Club members acquire
physical, social, technological, artistic, and life skills. The Boys & Girls Club
helps develop a moral character so they know right from wrong and can
behave ethically. Club Staff help members establish better study habits and
pursue secondary education. Staff members consistently communicate and
reinforce high expectations of youth.
Fun: The Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham generates happiness, fun, and
enjoyment for Club members! Members develop a strong sense of
belonging through personal connections they establish with staff and their
peers.
Recognition: The Boys & Girls Club recognizes member’s achievements
in all areas of the Club.

Torch Club is a program for 11-13 yr. old members to promote volunteerism, community service and

leadership for our community’s early adolescents. Torch members attend weekly meetings and assist the
staff with club events and daily programs. Members interested should register Deanna.
Keystone Club is a teen leadership program for 14-18 yr. olds to promote character, ethical leadership
and good citizenship in adolescents in our community. Members apply to Keystone and attend weekly
meetings. Interested teens should register with Heather Merrow.

Olympic Week
Monday, February 16th through Friday, February 20th
(9:00am—4:00pm)
There is a $25.00 registration fee for the week
Become a Boys & Girls Club Olympian!
Members will join teams and participate in both individual and team events for points.
Events include; sports, education, games room and art events. The three teams with the
most points will receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals. There is something for
everyone so join us for Olympic Week! Members must register for Olympic Week by
Thursday, February 13th.
Wed. from 3:30-5:00pm. at Stoneham TV.
This program will run for 7 weeks from
Jan. 21– March 18. ( no classes 2/18 & 3/11) Participation
is limited to 7 members so register now at the front desk for
this fun program in which Club members learn to operate
cameras, interview people, report stories and learn what
goes into the making of a television program. Transportation
will be provided by the Club Van!
Arts and Crafts -Youth will work on various fine arts and
crafts projects. Make a sculpture, bracelet, painting or
holiday themed creation. Come by the Club to see what we
are making. Mon.- Fri. from 3:00 – 5:00pm.
Jazz Classes will be held on Thursdays from
4:00-5:00pm for (7-9) yr. olds, and 5:00-6:00pm for (10-12)
yr. olds. Jazz classes will run for 7 weeks from
Jan. 29th- March 19th (no class Feb. 19th) Class space is
limited. Register at the front desk.
Weather Wise Program
Ever wonder how people predict the
weather?
Interested in learning how to track
down a live storm? In this interactive
class youth will learn about tornados,
hurricanes, thunderstorms and more
through a variety of hands on
experiments. The class is on Fridays
from 4:30-5:30pm starting January 9thMarch 20th for youth ages 10-12. Class
size is limited and registration at the
Club’s front desk is required.
Bombardment League
The bombardment league will run from
March 7th to April 11th on Saturdays
from 10:00am - 1:00pm.
This league is for members age 7-13
years old. Registration will be taken at
the front desk beginning in February.
