A Newsletter to Parents and Guardians
December 11, 2014
Dear Parents and Guardians,
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
The annual Christmas concert is TONIGHT at 6:30 pm. Students have been working diligently on the
performance in their music classes and extra rehearsals.
STUDENTS SHOULD REPORT TO THEIR HOMEROOM TEACHER AT 6:00 P.M.
This year, we will host a special recital night for our students who are taking instrumental lessons. That
night will be December 17th and the time will be 6:30 p.m. All are invited to attend.
We have recently upgraded our sound system in the cafeteria to accommodate the many wonderful
performances that are held there. On the night of the Christmas Program, we will hold a “free will”
offering to assist with the costs of the upgraded system. Your generosity will be very much appreciated.
Tonight at the Christmas Program, the doors to the cafeteria and gymnasium will open at 6:00 p.m.
Sorry, no saving of seats! Seats go on a “first come, first go basis.” Individuals in wheelchairs or who are
disabled will be admitted when they arrive.
SINCE WE ARE OFFERING A PROFESSIONAL RECORDING OF THE CHRISTMAS
PROGRAM WE ARE ASKING THAT PARENTS DO NOT SET UP VIDEO RECORDING
EQUIPMENT IN THE CAFETERIA. Video order forms were sent out last week. Parents may record
from their seats. Thank you for your cooperation.
There can be no cell phones, ipods, ipads, etc. used during the Christmas Program. They interfere
with the sound equipment.
ADVENT PRAYER SERVICES
Each week, our Catholic School community gathers for Advent prayer and reflection. All are invited to
join us. The next service will take place on Friday, December 12th at 9:00 a.m. Please join us if you
schedule allows.
CHRISTMAS PIANO RECITAL
This year our Christmas Music Program promises to be one of the best ever. Due to the number of
children taking piano this year, our school will hold the piano recitals on a separate night. The piano
recitals will take place at 6:30 p.m. on December 17. Please note this on your calendar. Thank you.
MBS CHORUS PERFORMANCE
Our MBS Chorus will perform on Saturday morning at the Dunes Manor Hotel on 28 th Street in Ocean

Hydration!!!!:
I am adding a new wrinkle to our athletic program this year, hydration is very important to everyone
whether an athlete or not. This year, students participating in any sport(s) at MBS are required to have
some sort of water bottle with them here at school…at all times. If I walk upstairs, cafeteria, art room or
anywhere else their water bottle should be with them. This is in an effort to promote hydration throughout
the day and not just before or during practice/games. If there is an issue with providing your child with a
water bottle please feel free to contact me and I will make sure they get one.
Fitness & Sports Equipment:
We are looking for gently used fitness/sports equipment such as dumbbells, BOSU balls, medicine balls,
cleats, lax sticks/helmets etc. for our teams/faculty to have access to. Since the beginning of the year there
has been a strong push to improve physical fitness from both the students and staff here at MBS. Before I
go out and purchase more equipment I wanted to ask our MBS families first. For more info. or to set up a
time to drop off equipment, please contact me via email.

at home! We are spending time this month reading many Christmas books both classic and religious. We
are also learning about “Christmas Around The World” in some classes.
A huge thank you to the many parents and students who have donated their gently used books for the

child’s bookshelves . We are truly grateful for your continued support.
