Emcor G-Series Product Line FAQ

Emcor G-Series Product Line FAQ
Why are we offering this new product?
- Broadens Crenlo’s portfolio of Emcor general service enclosures to accommodate differing static
load requirements and offers a new selection of standard footprint sizes. – It has also been
positioned for future product line expansion to meet changing industry needs. Look for innovative
configurations and product line expansion in the coming months.
Testing Information.
- The G-Series has been rigorously tested to Crenlo standards to ensure an adequate factor of
safety. It can safely hold 2000 lbs with a center of gravity located at half the total rack height.
- The G-Series is stronger than ESQ but more economical than 10 series. It is also a more rigid
frame structure than ESQ – designed to meet general service needs.
Why 2000 lbs?
- 2000 lbs. addresses the gap in static weight loads between our current ESQ and 10 Series lines.
Offering the G-Series at a static weight load of 2000 lbs adds breadth to our lines, providing
incremental good (800 lbs), better (2000) best (3500) options to our family of products.
- Also, 16 competitors’ “general service” frames were looked at for their stated static weight loads
and 6 of those competitors’ frames held a 2000 lb capacity (the most popular weight load). Other
competitors’ weight loads ranged anywhere from 1200 to 3500.
How can you tell the difference between the G-Series ESQ and 10 Series?
- By measuring the overall width and depth and looking at the type of mounting angle used.
- G-Series product is a mix of ESQ widths and 10 Series depths. It comes standard with multiformed 10 Series mounting angles.
What accessories can be used?
- A good rule of thumb is that any 10 series internal component will fit…be sure to check the
catalog before quoting.
Why do we have new casters?
- To match caster capacities to the static load capacity of the frame. The new caster options
provide for a 2,000 lbm static load as does the frame. Lighter duty stem casters are alos an
option but degrade the load capacity.
Why don’t we offer a pontoon base?
- The Caster and leveling leg structure required is built into the base. Future roll-outs may
accommodate popular base options.

What markets can this be sold into?
- The beauty of a general service rack is that its “general” features allow it to be useful in a number
of different markets. Some markets that this line fits into nicely are Test and Measurement,
Military and Defense (for those applications that do not require the robust weight load of a 10
Series frame), Systems Integration, Security and Medical. Given that it has the ESQ’s narrower
overall width, the G-Series frame may also play well in the Broadcast and AV markets. If the
depth of equipment being put into it is less than 36”, the G-Series frame can also be used in the
Data Comm/TeleComm market. If the application calls for it, G-Series may be used in other
markets as well.
Who would buy this?
- Customers looking for a frame that can hold more weight than the ESQ line, but don’t need the
robust weight load of the 10 Series frame.
- Customers in the markets listed above or customers who need a “general” frame.
- Customers looking for a 42U frame.
- Individuals looking for IBC seismic protection.
