Snow tires are required or snow chains in the vehicle
until April 15. Don’t be caught without either! The
chains must be the correct size for the tires and
applied to the drive wheels. You must know how
to apply the snow chains - you could be asked to
demonstrate applying them. Tires should read “M+S”
on the sidewalls; “all weather/all season” do not
qualify as “M+S” tires. Also, once you leave the
Italian border some countries require mud and snow
tires and do not accept snow chains as a substitute.

2015. Additionally, they implemented
the 1 October AEF re-banding, losing
32 Unit Task Codes (UTC), gaining four
new UTCs, re-posturing 35 unit members,
and IDing/correcting one MAJCOM
discrepancy. Furthermore, Mortuary Affairs
team conducted weekly meetings to
streamline the mortuary affairs process as
well as developed a combined casualty/
mortuary affairs training for new squadron
commanders. Finally, the team revamped
the unit’s deployment folder process,
organized and implemented one Home
Station Readiness Training session and
prepared and sent three members to Force
Support Combat Training.”

Transition AssistanceAccessing Higher Education
Workshop
DEC 15-16
As a supplement to a service member’s
transition assistance, the Education
Center offers a two-day workshop to
better prepare separating and retiring
service members to become college
students. Those interested must register
by Wednesday, December 10, for this
month’s workshop. Prior attendance at
the 5-day Transition GPS training is a
mandatory prerequisite.

17-18; register by February 11.

zero errors. When participating in Union/
management meetings he is the utmost
professional and ensures concerns are
accurately conveyed to both parties. Finally,
he monitors the LN annual leave for the
Wing, providing valid data to ensure
manager and supervisors have accurate
information WRT their LN employee annual
and excess leave.”
Officer Promotion Board Changes
Advanced academic degrees will no longer
be considered for officers meeting line of the
Air Force promotion boards below the grade
of colonel. Additionally, information provided
to all promotion board members will only
show the “completed” level of developmental
education or whether the officer is a “select”
to attend in-residence. The method and year
of completion will no longer be displayed.
New policy will be captured in the Air
Force Guidance Memorandums to Air
Force Instruction 36-2301, Developmental
Education and AFI 36-2406, Officer
and Enlisted Evaluation Systems. The first
promotion board to implement the new
policy will be the Major’s (LAF) Central
Selection Board scheduled for December 1.
