LinkedIn for Maids

Background introduction
With the growing number of Middle Income families and growing demand of maids, we can see
more and more maids related cases happening, such as maid abusing, maid undisciplined/murdering
and etc. Though many of the cases have attracted massive media coverage and concern from average
people to the governments of both local and oversea maid supply countries, yet we never see any
workable solution to these issues. The reason behind is that we are lack of a virtual regulator attached
to both maids & employers to always remind them of behaving properly. Further, the maid agencies are
pushing for sales with little responsibility, trying to fake profiles to get deals done. Being lack of
transparency in maid industry to some degree causes the later on series of issues.

Our Product
To address the issues mentioned above, we are creating a mobile app platform similar to
Linkedin but for maids and maids employers. This platform we will have five key features (the
two highlighted in red have been done, and we are progressing on 2nd & 3rd &5th),
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
maids profiles listings & filtering
employers recommendations/comments/reviews to the hired maids,
Maids recommendations/comments/reviews to their employers.
real time video interview between employer & maid
maids financial services (salary payment & remittance)
This platform acts as a virtual regulator and also facilitates the applying & hiring process, and gets
maid industry transparent & standard.

Target Users
1. Middle income and above families (only those high quality families with high spending
ability would consider having maids), And most probably they hire maids for caring kids &
elders, so there would be business cooperation space with baby & elders products
suppliers.(the user base could be at least 100m, please refer the screenshots in last page)
2. Maids from those maids supplier countries, and especially the mobile phone gets cheap
enough ($30 dollars can buy one) to be affordable, so they will surely move to the
platform for jobs if it is available there. (the user base here could be 200m, the number is
very conservative and could be much higher especially after rolling out this platform, as
the number of users who want to be working as maids definitely would be a few times of
users who are working as maids)

Our Advantages
We have been investigating the markets for half a year, and till now we cannot see any mobile
app available for maid industry in the market, and we are to roll out the app in one or two months
at most, so we might be running ahead of others. Further, we are using quite different
approaches from the traditional players (bestmaids.com.sg, www.netmaid.com.sg, and etc) which
are based on PC web, being away from the mobile trend and lack of important functions to
regulate & standardize the maid industry.

Market Size (only consider the agent fee & financial service fee)
As I mentioned before that we have at least 100M middle income and above families are
using maids service, if we only look at the old business model with agent fee (around S$3000 to
4000 per new maid), then for the yearly market size it might be 100m *60% (overturn rate
referring to 3rd screenshot)* 3000 (lowest charge) = 180billions / year. And this number is
growing fast especially thanks to the booming markets in Asia like China & Korea & India (here
china and India are not yet included for calculation). And if later on we consider the financial
services (salary payment & remittance), and we ask for 2% commission, then 100m * 6000
(500/month salary) *2% = 12billions / year.

Financials
We are working on product developments, and we might need to have at least 500K in one
year scope to support us to roll out the product as soon as possible and dominate the market
rapidly (we need to quit our current jobs as early as possible, and bring in one more technical
guru, two marketers)
