A Message from our Pastor
Father Lee Roos
Collect (Opening Prayer) of the Third Sunday of Advent:
O God, who see how your people
faithfully await the feast of the Lord’s Nativity,
enable us, we pray,
to attain the joys of so great a salvation
and to celebrate them always
with solemn worship and glad rejoicing.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the
Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

In Our Parish
Read an Advent prophet in the Bible. Come to daily Mass.
Encourage someone. Spend time with an older person.
Spend time with a younger person. Meditate on the fact that
Jesus is here for you. Be kind to someone in your family.
Be kind to someone at work. Take a deep breath and simply
take 5 minutes to pray. Remember immigrants who need
your assistance. Be at peace. Watch. Wait. Pray. Rejoice.
All a part of Advent.
Wednesday, December 31st, 2014, is the last day by which
contributions may be either received at the parish office or

Simbang Gabi or Misa de Gallo: It is a novena of Masses
celebrated in the Philippines at dawn starting on December
16th until Christmas Eve. Filipino communities throughout
the United States also celebrate this tradition, from
December 15th to December 23rd. It is considered a way to
prepare for the coming of Jesus with fervor, joy and
thanksgiving which are expressed in their faithfulness to
attend the full novena Masses. After each Mass, families
share traditional holiday sweets and desserts.
The All Saints Filipino-American Ministry would like to
invite everyone to experience the Philippine tradition of
Simbang Gabi Mass (Advent Novena Mass to prepare for
the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ) on Friday, December
19th at 7:00pm. A reception will follow.
The Mass will be in English with sung Mass acclamations
and hymns mostly in Tagalog, a prominent language in the
the Philippines.
The Spirit of Love Prayer Group
will meet as follows:
December 15th, 22nd and 29th (Church)
Live Praise & Worship and Prayer Teams available
for individual prayer.

Question of the Week: Who is the “poor ” per son—
specifically, by name and type of poverty—to whom the
Spirit is sending me, this week? The broken-hearted
person? The captive? What specifically are the “glad
tidings” I will bring?
"Give thanks to The Lord for He is good;
His mercies endure forever." Ps. 107:1

Advent Wreath Prayers
If you have set up an Advent wreath in
your home this year, here are some
prayers you could say while you light
its candles. You may say these before
or after a meal, when waking up,
before going to bed, or whenever you and the members of
your household gather for prayer. Before you say the
prayer, read and talk over the Gospel you heard at Sunday
Mass that week.
Week 3: O God, who sent J ohn the Baptist as a voice
crying out in the desert, open our ears to hear his message
as we light the pink candle. Shape our lives so that they
will become a straight path to you. Make us ready to greet
your Son when he comes to us. Through Christ our Lord.
Week 4: O God, who sent your angel Gabr iel to
announce good news to Mary, make us happy with your
word of life. Let our hearts be so filled with love for you
that they glow with the light of these four candles. May we
live in a way that will please you. Through Christ our
Lord.
