Introduction to organisation
The Story Museum (TSM) is a pioneering education charity established in Oxford in 2003.
Our purpose is to enrich lives through story, particularly for the young and those facing
disadvantage.
The Story Museum works to inspire learning through story because we believe that stories
are essential for healthy intellectual and emotional development. Since 2005 we have been
running outreach programmes that offer people, especially young people, memorable and
enjoyable ways of learning through story. We offer a public programme for all ages and run
targeted projects in disadvantaged areas where people are at risk of functional illiteracy and
social exclusion. In April 2014 we completed the first phase of developing a permanent
venue in central Oxford.
