The song words will be shown on the screens. Folders containing printed words are
available on request if you are unable to see the screen. Most people stand up during the
songs but do feel free to sit down if this is easier for you. There is space at the front and
back if you would like to dance or if you feel the need for extra space during the singing!
Members of the Prayer Team will be available after the service. If you
would like someone to pray with you, simply come to the front before
you leave. Refreshments are served in the Spurgeon Hall following the
service.

Kirsty has begun a phased return to
work. She has not yet completely
recovered from her injury and needs
regular exercise breaks. Please be
sensitive about making work requests
during these early days. Simon
Heating in the Link is currently running
on the timer. Please do not turn the
sockets off or adjust the radiator
controls. If you have any issues with the
heating for your event please contact the
Church office.
Church Calendar 2015: Next year’s
calendars are available for the amazing
price of just £3. Buy your copy in the
Link or from the church office.
Photographic Competition
For the 2016 calendar, we would like
your digital photographs of church or
church related activities throughout the
year. So get snapping! These will need to
be submitted by mid October, preferably
with an appropriate text or quotation.
We would also value your comments on

8-20 December
A children’s sheep trail on Shirley High
Street. There are knitted sheep hiding in
the shops. Each sheep will have been
named by its shop. Can you find all the
sheep? You can download a sheet from
SBC’s website or collect one from Shirley
Library to help you complete the trail.
CTiS:“All I want for Christmas is Ewe”
20 December: 3.30pm-5.30pm
Starts at SBC with Christmas crafts and
games. At 4.45pm a lantern procession
sets off to the Precinct singing carols
accompanied by the Salvation Army
Band. The event ends with refreshments
at the Salvation Army. Your help to
move tables from the Salvation Army to
here in the morning is requested. Jo Snape
Tiger yard pop-up shop: A not for
profit collaborative venture run by
volunteers. Tue to Sun 10am to 5pm
(until 20 Dec) at 108 East Street,
Southampton SO14 3HD. Fairly traded
goods for sale plus craft activities &
workshops. If you would like to help in

Basics Bank: We collect food for the
Basics Bank throughout the year but
December is the month when we have
particular responsibility and when
Christmas items are welcomed alongside
“the basics”.

Walk: Thursday 1 January 2015.
9.30am start from the Cliffhanger Cafe
Car Park, Waterford Road, Highcliffe,
BH23 5JA. Come and join us for this
delightful 4 mile walk which takes in the
Christchurch Coastal Path, Highcliffe
Castle, Steamer Point Nature Reserve
and Mudeford Quay. Lunch will be at the
Cliffhanger Cafe. Blow away those
cobwebs and walk down those calories
whilst enjoying a wonderful morning

Tackling the difficult issues of porn,
pastoral care and parenting in a relaxed,
fun and encouraging environment. Part

The stone parapet at the front of the
church has been secured and the
scaffolding will be taken down on 16
December.

Church Team? A simple meal is served,

end of the morning to about 60 people.

Centering Prayer Tuesdays 7.30pm in
the Church Lounge. (Access is via the
rear doors off the car park.) 'Be still and
know that I am God' Centering Prayer is
a very simple yet profound form of
prayer for everyday use. Not meeting on

Evening Fellowship: Monthly Ladies
Meeting: 7.30pm in the Carey Hall.
We meet on the second Tuesday of the
month (except August), usually with an
invited speaker on a Christian or secular
topic. We occasionally invite gentlemen
along when it is thought the evening
might appeal to them. Next meeting: Tu
