Minocqua Winter Park has 75 km of beautifully groomed trails for striding and skating, including both flat and hilly terrain for all skiing abilities. Rita Keber Retzer Snowshoe Outing Saturday, January 31, 1 PM Join the Nordics for snow shoeing at Retzer Nature Center, S14 W28167 Madison Street in Waukesha, phone 262-896-8007. You do not need a park sticker for this park. Retzer has snow shoes for rent, call for availability. If not enough snow we will hike. We will travel on some of the scenic trail loops for about 1 or 2 hours. We will leave Friday morning at 8 am and stop to ski at Green Bay Reforestation Camp (30km). Saturday skiing will probably by at the Lower Noquemanon Trail around Forestville (35 km) and Sunday skiing will probably be at Blueberry Ridge (21 km). Valley Spur Ski Trip March 6 - 8 8 AM departure The Nordics 2015 grand finale ski weekend, March 6 - 8, to splendid Valley Spur located in upper Michigan’s snow belt is more than half full! Don’t delay, sign up soon. After skiing on Friday (weather permitting) at the Brown Co. Reforestation Camp outside Green Bay, there is likely to be plenty more outdoor activity (thanks to lake-effect snow and reliable grooming) the remainder of the weekend on Valley Spur's well designed classical and skate style ski system and separate snow shoe trails. A Saturday highlight, the annual Taste and Glide, an outdoor tasty food fest-celebration and fund raiser for Valley Spur, will be offered again for optional participation. Evenings can be spent relaxing at our overnight destination, the comfortable Holiday Inn Express overlooking scenic Lake Superior outside Munising, or exploring an interesting mix of local dining establishments, and, perhaps taking in some folksy music at the Falling Rock Cafe.
