Happy New Year!! 2015 is off and running as the 6 FSS
does our part to provide unmatched installation support
with non-stop fun-filled events and programs your family
is sure to enjoy!
January kicks off with an opportunity to burn off some
holiday calories with the New Year’s 5k on the 9th, and
that same evening, there’s more fun in store during a free
showing of the Lego movie at the January Friday Family
Fun Night at SeaScapes.
Channel your inner athlete later in the month for the Gladiator Challenge on the 23th of January and the Annual
Super Bowl Party on 1 February at MacDill Lanes. Cheer
on your favorite team, register for door prizes and enjoy
free snacks during the first score of each quarter or just sit
back and enjoy the commercials!
Corral the kids and bring their bikes for the Bike Rodeo
Friday Family Fun Night on 6 February at SeaScapes,
followed by the Cupid Shuffle 5k Run on the 13th. Then,
make some time for a little romance at the Annual Sweet
Hearts Dinner at the Surf’s Edge Club on Valentine’s Day.
Already thinking about that next vacation? The Tickets and
Travel Office will host their very first Travel Expo on March
3rd with travel vendors from your favorite recreational
destinations. Make plans now to get the best deals and
discounts for those upcoming summer getaways. Get your
“glow on” at the March 6th Glow Party Friday Family Fun
Night at SeaScapes, followed by the Basewide Picnic on
March 11th during spring break.
Before you know it, it’ll be time to wrap up the first quarter
of 2015 with a visit from the Easter Bunny when you bring
the kids to the Annual Basewide Egg Hunt on March 28th,
at the Youth ball fields.
However you choose to get involved in our MacDill community, your 6th Force Support Squadron has something for
everyone! So get up, get out and get to some FUN!

announcement.
On Wed, 22 April from 4-6pm, the 2nd
Annual Gala Night will be held in which
participant’s works will be on display with
presentations made to all participants.
The entire MacDill community is invited to
this event to witness first-hand the talent
that flows across this base as well as partake in sumptuous hors d’oeuvres and festive conversation.
Watch for more detailed information on Gala Night in the next edition of
Base, Bay & Beyond plus on our website and Facebook site.
Pollen season arrives again in late February and March. Bring your vehicle to
the Car Wash to keep it from turning
that nasty shade of yellow-green! The
soft-touch automatic bay plus two selfserve bays are available for your convenience and are open 24/7.
Please help keep the
area in good working
order by using the
equipment and area
properly. Make sure
trash is always placed in the receptacles on site and do
not use the vacuums on wet surfaces. Doing so will lead to
clogging the filters and causing poor suction.
STOP & SHOP!
Visit the shop in
the heart of
MacDill AFB!
Located across the
street from the Fitness Center on one side and the Bowling Center on the other side, the
Arts & Crafts Center provides custom framing, awards/engraving products, custom wood products, craft classes, and do-it-yourself programs
in auto hobby, wood hobby and crafting. Prices are extremely competitive
with the same services and products from on and off base.
Stop by and see what the facility has to offer… you’ll be glad you did!
F E A T U R E D
Q&A
Q: Can I place an order over
the phone?
A: Our staff is unable to accept
orders over the phone. With the
many nuances in the types of
products we produce, there are
too many risks in the precise requirements being conveyed or understood over the phone. Additionally, any pricing provided over the phone
is not an official quote, but just a ‘ballpark’ figure.
For more Q&As about the Arts & Crafts programs and
products, please visit our webpage at www.macdillfss.com
