WHO ARE BLIND OR VISUALLY IMPAIRED ( P.M.) – Presenter – Lion Joe Strechay (Lion Joe is the American
Foundation for the Blind's CareerConnect Program Manager. He provides oversight to the CareerConnect Program, which
offers a free online website specific to career exploration, job seeking skills, and e-mentoring.)
"Come and learn some basic blindness etiquette from a professional who is blind. Learn what to do when you meet someone
who is blind and what to avoid. Stay to find out how his work for the American Foundation for the Blind impacts the lives of
youth and adults who are blind or visually impaired in the United States and abroad. Listen and ask questions about how
literacy is braille, print, e-text, and bridged through technology."
SEMINAR "4": GET THE SCOOP ON GRANT RESEARCHING, WRITING, AND REPORTING (A.M.) –
Presenter – Lion Jennifer Strechay (Lion Jen is the Huntington (WV) Museum of Art's Grants Writer. In the past year, she was
successful in 23 of 27 grants written, and has raised over $400,000 in grant funds since joining the Museum in 2013.)
"Get practical and useful tips from a successful grant writer, who wants to provide you with the basic tricks of the trade. Learn
what brings success for the development and reporting of grants. Also, find out what to avoid as you start your journey."
