We have been a certified woman-owned business since I started the company in 1977. As C.E.O. and
Owner, I have established many relationships with key figures in the construction industry and look

outside work at airports, large scale projects like wind farms and sand plants and more. Our clients

Quality Assurance Overview
Upon Hiring:
 New hire paperwork completed at the office.
 Conduct MVR check on all new hires as needed.
 Employee handbook and safety plan provided to all employees.
 Verbal overview of our company core values and key points of our safety program.
 Inspection of employees personal protection equipment prior to starting.
 Introductions to CEO, Safety Director, EEO Officer and Project Managers as available.
30 Days:
 Conduct a formal 30 day review with the new hire
Performance Analysis:
 Once jobs are complete we obtain performance reviews from three key areas
1) The Customer, 2) J&L Foreman and 3) J&L Project Manager.
 Frequently host employee training/appreciation events which include safety training, employee
recognition, reinforcement of our core values and PRO-10 messaging.
 Quarterly personal performance evaluations are conducted with the office personnel.
 Annual performance review of all field personnel and bi-annually for apprentices.

the electrical services division in 2010. The electrical team is a full service contractor
specializing in commercial industrial projects like nursing homes, airports, and street
lighting/signals. Our foreman are professional, dependable and highly skilled. J&L’s

Owner and CEO: LouAnne Berg
LouAnne Berg has been a woman business owner since 1977. She began her
career in construction in the steel erection business. She recently expanded her
business to offer electrical services primarily in WI and MN. Her integrity as a
sound business owner has earned her the respect of many contractors, suppliers
and industry leaders. Over the past five years J&L has reached sales of $15 million annually
and has bonding capacity of $20 million.
Over the years, she has created a wealth of relationships with traditional construction
companies and women business owners across many industries. She has been recognized by
several organizations for her integrity and accomplishments:

Recipient of the WI Governors Marketplace Award for large women owned business
Inducted into the Minnesota Women Business Owners Hall of Fame, organized and
researched by National Association Women Business Owners, 2013.
Received the Wisconsin Governor’s Trailblazer Award, 2012.
Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of Year Finalist-Midwest Region, 2010.


LouAnne was also asked to host a town hall meeting for Senator John McCain. The

“Woman of the Year” award, 2005.

She embraces change and growth within her organization. LouAnne has improved the skill and
performance level of her workers through her ‘Safety 1st’ program which resulted in decreasing
their M.O.D rate by 50%. She also developed an estimating program indicating production
rates specific to their scope of work, which has enabled them to be more competitive in the
market place.
LouAnne, has taken responsibility to do her part in improving the construction industry with
