The Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department delivered the truck to Eagleville on Tuesday, Dec. 23 where Eagleville Mayor and officials from both fire departments were on hand. The Eagleville Council members agreed at a recent meeting to accept the donated fire truck and related equipment. The vehicle is a 1990 Pierce Telesquirt with a 50-foot elevated waterway, a 500 gallon capacity water tank and a 1,250 gallon per minute pump. City manager Andrew Ellard noted the vehicle will serve the city of Eagleville and District 45 by better equipping the department to respond to fires in larger buildings, in shuttling water to fires and will serve as a reserve pumper/engine unit. Ellard also noted this is the second time this year that the Eagleville Fire Department has received donated vehicles from neighboring first response organizations. Earlier this year, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Service (EMS) donated a vehicle to the city that is now being used as a firefighter/first responder support vehicle.
