During the review period, Narok in the south rift recorded the highest rainfall

Temperature
During the review period, day-time (maximum) temperatures generally decreased over most parts of
the country except few areas. Night-time (minimum) temperatures generally increased over most areas
except few areas over the coast.
Wajir Meteorological Stations recorded the highest daily maximum temperature of 38.8°C on 11th
January 2015 while Nyahururu Meteorological Station recorded the lowest daily minimum temperature
of 4.9°C on 5th. Wajir Meteorological station recorded the highest seven-day average maximum
temperature of 37.4°C while Nyahururu Meteorological Station recorded the lowest seven-day average
minimum temperature of 6.3°C. (See Figure 4 below)

 Dry weather condition is to be experienced throughout the entire country for the entire
forecast period.
DETAILED REGIONAL FORECAST FOR THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS 13TH TO 19TH JAN 2015
The Lake Victoria Basin, Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Central and South Rift Valley
(counties of Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Transnzoia, Baringo,
Uasingishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Laikipia, Nakuru, Narok, Kajiado, Kericho, Bomet,
Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma and Busia are expected to experience sunny intervals the entire day
throughout the forecast period. The extreme south Rift Valley is however likely to receive
afternoon showers and thunderstorms scattered over few places at the beginning of the period;
Northwestern (counties of Turkana, West Pokot and Samburu) are expected to experience
sunny intervals the entire day throughout the forecast period;
Central Highlands including, Nairobi area (counties of Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga,
Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka) are expected to experience sunny intervals the
entire day throughout the forecast period;
Northeastern (counties of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo) are expected to
experience sunny intervals the entire day throughout the forecast period;
Southeastern (counties of Kitui, Makueni, Machakos and Taita Taveta) are expected to
experience sunny intervals the entire day throughout the forecast period;
The Coastal strip (counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale) are expected
to experience sunny intervals the entire day throughout the forecast period.

this Department.
