Our Seminar FACULTY
Sarah O. Wang joined MJW in April 1998 and was made a partner in January 2001. She
has considerable experience in both employment litigation and training employ¬ers to
better manage their workforce. Ms. Wang represents management in a wide range of
labor and employment matters, including federal and state court litigation of wrongful
termination, harassment, reasonable accommodation, breach of contract, and other
employment claims; discrimination and harassment cases pending before administrative agencies; union arbitrations and airline System Boards of Adjustment; wage and
hour audits and other administrative proceedings; and federal and state appellate
cases. Ms. Wang also devotes a substantial amount of her practice to pro¬viding training and advising employers and their supervisory employees in managing personnel
issues and complying with various employment laws. She helps employers develop
and implement policies to effectively manage their workforce. Ms. Wang is a frequent
speaker at labor and employment law seminars on topics such as dis¬crimination and
harassment, employee privacy, internal investigations, reasonable accommodation
obligations, and wage and hour laws.
Ms. Wang is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts in Hawaii, the
District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the United States Courts of Appeals for the
Ninth and D.C. Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Wang has been
selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America since the 2007 edition and
she has been listed in the Chambers USA directory, America’s Leading Lawyers for
Busi¬ness, since 2004.
Darin R. Leong represents management in a wide range of labor and employment matters, including federal and state court litigation of wrongful termination, harass¬ment,
reasonable accommodation, breach of contract/non-compete agreements, and other
employment claims; discrimination and harassment cases pending before administrative agencies; wage and hour compliance; and traditional labor matters such as
collective bargaining, labor arbitrations and unfair labor practice charges. Mr. Leong
also conducts workplace investigations on behalf of employers and provides counseling and training for employers and their supervisory employees to manage personnel
issues and comply with various employment laws.
Prior to joining MJW in January 2007, Mr. Leong practiced labor and employment law
at Proskauer Rose LLP in New York City. Mr. Leong is a graduate of Pomona College
and received his law degree from New York University. He is licensed to practice in the
states of Hawaii and New York. Mr. Leong is a recipient of the 2011 Pacific Busi¬ness
News “Forty Under 40” award.
Patrick H. Jones has spent his entire legal career representing management in vari¬ous
employment-related matters. He has significant traditional labor law experience, including representing clients in arbitration under collective bargaining agreements and
before the National Labor Relations Board, and assisting clients engaged in collective
bargaining negotiations. He has advised companies dealing with strikes and other
job actions, and has obtained court injunctions against illegal strikes and picketing. In
addition to traditional labor work, Mr. Jones is known for effectively defending clients
against wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims in federal and state courts. He has also represented clients against alleged whistleblowers
under Hawaii law and the federal False Claims and Sarbanes-Oxley Acts. Concerning
alleged unlawful discrimination, Mr. Jones has helped many clients re¬spond to administrative charges and claims filed with the Equal Employment Oppor¬tunity Com-

Christopher S. Yeh practices in all aspects of labor and employment law, ad¬vises
companies on a wide range of employment matters, and has suc¬cessfully represented employers in proceedings before private arbitra¬tors as well as the state and
federal courts in Hawaii, Hawaii Civil Rights Commission, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, and Hawaii Department of Labor
and Industrial Relations.
Mr. Yeh has taught at both Hawaii Pacific University and the Universi¬ty of Hawaii
William S. Richardson School of Law. He is a regular speaker at employment law
seminars on subjects such as sexual harassment, dis¬crimination, disability accommodation, and employee leave issues with an em¬phasis on the Family Medical
Leave Act and American with Disabilities Act.Mr. Yeh joined MJW as an associate in
December 1998 and became a partner in 2003. Prior to joining the firm, he specialized in labor and employment law at the law firm of Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel
in Honolulu. He is a graduate of Harvard University and Harvard Law School. Mr. Yeh
has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America and is listed in the Chambers
USA directory, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.
Christopher J. Cole has practiced labor and employment law since 1992. For more
than two decades, Mr. Cole has defended Hawaii employers against lawsuits involving allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, discrimination, whistleblowing, trade
secret/non-compete agreement enforcement, tort, and breach of contract. Mr. Cole
is also experienced in labor arbitration, mediation, workplace investigations, FLSA
wage and hour compliance audits, workplace violence, drug-testing policies, EEO
training, whistleblower proceedings, workers compensation rate litigation, unemployment insurance appeals, employment contracts, separation agreements, ADA confidentiality, and employee discipline and discharge.
Mr. Cole is a graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of Law. Upon
graduation in 1992, Mr. Cole joined the Labor and Employment Department of Carlsmith Ball LLP as an associate. Before joining Marr Jones & Wang, Mr. Cole practiced as a litigation partner at Carlsmith Ball, and McCorriston Miller Mukai MacKinnon, LLP, where he handled a wide range of commercial and general litigation
matters, while always maintaining an active employment law practice. In 2012, Mr.
Cole joined Marr Jones & Wang, focusing exclusively on labor and employment law.
Mr. Cole is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts in Hawaii, the
United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Tax Court.
