The mission of the Entry-Level Athletic Training Program is: To teach the basic and advanced knowledge and skills required to be successful in the athletic training profession through didactic and clinical education components. To instill critical thinking, problem solving, ethical reasoning abilities, and interpersonal skills required to be successful in the athletic training profession with regard to working with the physically active population. To develop scholarly practitioners who appreciate advancing knowledge and critically examine the body of knowledge for evidence- based practice as a foundation for the delivery of athletic training care. To encourage students to become dedicated and professionally involved in the athletic training profession in terms of continuing education, leadership, and professional responsibility. To cultivate knowledgeable Athletic Training Students who qualify to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC) exam. A A Submit the following items directly to the Athletic Training department : Three letters of recommendation (one must be from a faculty member) A curriculum vitae/resume A personal statement of professional and educational goals Apply to the University Graduate School (www.gradschool.fiu.edu ) A CCREDITATION: ROGRAM INFORMATION: The ATEP program is a 6 semester (58 credits), full time program and includes 842 hours of clinical experiences. Twenty-five students are accepted annually. The program starts once each year in June. DMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor degree from a accredited institution Minimum 3.00 GPA average (based on a 4.0 scale) in the last 60 credits of upper division courses of the bachelor degree Minimum 3.00 GPA overall on a 4.0 scale. Complete the following prerequisite courses with a minimum grade of “C”: (see back of page for list of acceptable courses) The Entry-Level Masters Athletic Training Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
