sponsored or attended over the last year. Bedford VA Bingo 10
times, MA Elks Veterans Charity Motorcycle Run (Billerica),
POW/MIA Recognition Day (Boston), Bedford VA Cookout ,
Vettes for Veterans at Bedford VA , AL Post 19 Motorcycle
Squad and Logan had a Bingo and Pizza Party at Chelsea
Soldiers Home (November) and many other events. See you at a
post meeting soon.

Officers Reports:
Adjutant’s Orderly book: December 14th 2014 Lt, James A. Logan
Post VFW 6800 had our annual Christmas party at Bedford V.A..
Noontime we played Bingo. We had Chinese food from the Great
Wall Restaurant in Bedford, along with a Christmas gift for each
patient and as always great support, the patients loved it, thanks to all
that helped with the Christmas party. Dec, 13th 2014 AL post 19
hosted a Christmas party for their members and Lt. James A Logan
Post members it included a animal show, food, gifts and a visit by
Santa. A great time was had by all.
SVC. Report Red Hogan asks you to : Help Recruit New or Reinstated Members, to keep
our 68 year tradition of Veterans serving fellow veterans and their families We need your help
to bring new members to any Post meeting.
JVC. Report Josh Bagley: J osh has completed a yeoman' s job on the VOD project,
corresponding with Ms. Kerstin at Somerville High School. He worked on the judging, with
his family members. He also went to Somerville High School to speak on “Being a veteran”
in November. He should be commended for his endeavors. The VOD Essay winners from
SHS along with their teachers will be hosted at a luncheon at the Mt. Vernon Restaurant at
11AM the Post meeting will start at 10AM.
The winner of the VOD for 2014 are
1st. Place Gabrielle Matthews, 2nd. Place Maxwell Freitas, and 3rd. Place Andrew Churchill.

VA Program: PC Red Hogan, PC Bob King and Arthur O’Loughlin, are running Bingo
for the inpatients at The Bedford VA. Every month (Except, February - Golden Gloves,
July - Ice Cream, August - Cookout and December – Christmas Party) on the third
Monday at 6:30 PM. Volunteers are needed for a few hours a month to help out with all
of these programs.
Service Officer Report Arthur O'Loughlin : Since our last newsletter we have found the
final resting place for all of the KIA. of city of Somerville. Our heroes who died for our
country should never be forgotten. The Somerville veterans service officer Jay Weaver has
accepted a position with the U.S. Dept. of Justice and his tenure as Director of veteran's
Service has ended, Job well done. Jay came to the November Post meeting and explained the
VA benefit program to our members that attended the meeting. Thank you Jay,
Semper Fi.
