With the winter weather, the
demands on the bus system will
increase. Please allow extra time
for the bus to arrive, and plan
your trips to appointments well in
advance. The bus could take up
to one-half hour or slightly longer
from the time of your call to
arrive during peak hours.

your instructions and baseboard at
the library. Return completed
project by January 30. Voting will
take place by library patrons the
first two weeks of February.

crews by shoveling out hydrants in their neighborhood
and keeping them clear of
snow. Keeping fire hydrants
visible and accessible will save
valuable firefighter time in an
emergency.
Extension cords are a fire
threat.

power used by the device they are powering
• Extension cords should
not be used as a longterm solution

never run inside walls or
under rugs or furniture

Do not use any cord
that has become stiff or

Develop and practice a home
fire escape plan with your
family. Select a meeting place
outside that everyone can get
to. Once you are out of the

total amount of brush and limbs
per household shall not exceed 10
cubic yards per month.
Yard Waste/Leaves
Yard waste and leaves placed in
biodegradable bags will be picked
up every Friday beginning April 17,
2015. Please place bags at the
curb on Friday by 7 a.m., but no
earlier than 24 hours before pickup.
There will not be a loose leaf pickup in the spring.

There is no parking on city streets
from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. from
November 1, 2014 through March
31, 2015. The signs are posted on
the major streets entering the
city.

DDA - the Downtown Development Authority will be involved with the creation and implementation of development plans in the downtown
district and with the promotion of economic growth. The term of office is 4 years. The DDA meets on the 1st Thursday of each month at noon.
Planning Commission - the Board adopts a Master Plan for the physical development of the city, reviews the Capital Improvements Plan, recommends zoning changes, approves plats and governs the subdivision of land. The term of office is 3 years. The commission meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Zoning Board of Appeals - the powers of the Board include hearing of appeals, granting of temporary uses and buildings, and hearing of cases
of a proposed change of use. The term of office is 3 years. The board meets as needed.
