C.C. Yin’s life story exemplifies the goals of every immigrant who
comes to America to live the American dream. He and his family
own 32 McDonald’s restaurants in Northern California. Mr. Yin is
an established entrepreneur with a heart for serving the
community. For the past 30 years, he has been actively involved in
a number of organizations and institutions in diverse communities
including Chambers, Rotary, NAACP, schools, homeless, disabled
and others.

During the past 14 years, C.C. has expended tireless personal
energy and resources to build a non-profit organization, APAPA,
with goals to promote the importance of political awareness and
civic engagement. APAPA is a renowned National organization
that promotes empowerment of API community.
He served as Board of Trustee for the California State University
and the California State Lottery Commission, Board Member of
the Citizens Oversight Committee for the California Highway
Patrol, California Asian Chamber, and Vacaville Chamber.
C.C. has received numerous recognitions and awards at local, state
& national levels as a statewide business, civic, political and
community leader including a Presidential Volunteer Service
Award from President Obama, Corporate Achievement Award by
the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies
(APAICS), National Minority Retail Firm of the Year Award by
US Department of Commerce, National Entrepreneur of the Year,
Top 50 National Food Franchisee, Top Franchisee in the Nation by
Franchise Times, the prestigious Golden Arch Award &
Leadership Award by McDonald’s Corporation, and the
Leadership Award by International Leadership Foundation.

Dr. Albert Wang is an internist and a partner at the Palo Alto
Medical Clinic. He was born in Taiwan and came to the US at the
age of 14. He graduated with honors from UC Berkeley with a BS
in Biochemistry, and MD from UC San Diego.

A widely recognized civic and community leader in the Bay Area,
Dr. Wang has served as President of the American Cancer Society,
Northern California Chinese Unit, Citizens for Better Community,
Friends of Children with Special Needs, Vision New America, and
is currently the Chair of the Asian Pacific Islander American
Public Affairs Association (APAPA)’s Bay Area Region and Chair
of APAPA’s National & Regional Issues Committee.
A well-respected community leader and a successful entrepreneur,
Dr. Hsing Kung holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from
University of California, Berkeley, an M.B.A. from Santa Clara
University, and a B.S.E.E. from National Cheng Kung University.
Currently, Dr. Kung is a partner in the Acorn Campus Ventures,
where he is known as the “Godfather of Fiber Optics” for growing
several startup ventures over the past two decades. He also serves
as Chairman of Luxnet Corporation and Innolight Corporation.
In recent years, Dr. Kung has been devoted to promoting ChineseAmerican participation in mainstream communities. He
participates in community organizations including Cupertino
Rotary, Institute of Computer Technology, and West ValleyMission Community College Foundation. Currently, he serves on
AACI advisory board and Silicon Valley Creates board.

Mr. Sandy Wai-Yan Chau has been active in IT business
investments since 1997. From 1992 to 1997 he was CEO of one of
the largest and most diversified listed construction and real estate
firms in Taiwan. Mr. Chau began his career as head of a consulting
firm for start-ups in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was the
founding president of the influential Asian American
Manufacturing Association (AAMA) in Silicon Valley in 1979,
and in 1977 started Universal Semiconductor in San Jose,
California.
Kenneth Fong
Secretary
Kenneth Fong is Founder and Chairman of Kenson Ventures, a
venture capital firm that provides funds and strategic advice to
biotechnology start-ups and companies. Prior to Kenson, he
founded Clontech Laboratories in 1984, a molecular biology
company that grew to 400 employees and posted revenues of
$80 million dollars before merging with Becton Dickinson in
1999. Born in China, Mr. Fong received a bachelor’s degree in
biology and chemistry at San Francisco State University, five
years after emigrating from Hong Kong.
Mr. Fong has volunteered much of his time and resources to
promoting understanding of Asian Americans, including lead
support on a PBS documentary on the Chinese American
experience during World War II. Mr. Fong also supports the 8020 Initiative, a non-partisan organization whose mission is to
win fair representation of Asian Americans in political
appointments.

moved to the United States from Taiwan for graduate school.
An information technology professional, he is the Founder and
CEO of a technology company. He has taught at universities
and served as a senior advisor for the State of California and
