The Saint Mary Royals are hosting their annual
HOOPS Tournament on January 22 – January 24 for the Girls and
January 29- January 31 for the Boys.
This fundraising event not only supports the Saint Mary Catholic School, but it strives to
provide an opportunity for youth to develop their basketball skills, work on teamwork,
leadership, and to have fun!
Who: This tournament is for Boys and Girls in the 4th and 5th Grade
What: The tournament structure will be determined by the tournament officials based
upon number of entries. A team cake will be awarded to the Girls and Boys Tournament
winners.
How to register:
Fill out the registration form with pertinent information about your team.
Registration is sponsored by Saint Mary Catholic School PTO. We ask that rosters be
limited to 10 players. Saint Mary PTO will provide 10 free tournament t-shirts for players
and two free t-shirts for coaches. If your roster exceeds 10, additional t-shirts will be
available at cost. Please see information on registration form if your team requires more
than the 12 included tournament shirts
Deadline for entry is January 6, 2015 or when all of the slots are full.
Tournament Details:

Referees are paid and experienced.
•
All games will be held at Saint Mary Catholic School 502 East Warner, Guthrie, OK
Games will begin 5:00 p.m.
•
Doors will not open until ½ hour before the start of games.
•
Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated from coaches, players, or
fans.
Coaches Information:
•
Coaches will pick up a packet when they check in at the gate before their first
game. There will be 2 passes for coaches along with any other information that is
needed.
•
In order to stay on a time schedule pre-game warm-ups and halftime may be
shortened.
•
The tournament brackets and any additional information will be emailed once the
schedule is complete.

Four 8-minute quarters with running clock. It will stop the last two minutes.
No Full Court Press. You may half court press. If a team is 20 points ahead they
must play a zone behind the 3-point line.
Games will be initiated with an opening tip-off at center court. Tie balls will be
alternated after the opening tip.
Each team is allowed four time-outs per game.
Overtime periods are three minutes in duration.
