BLOOM at Home provides Personal Care Services to residents who may benefit from assistance in areas such as dressing, feeding, general post rehabilitation help, toileting, sponge baths, and more. In addition, their Companionship Services are a great way to provide more one-on-one interaction. This promotes discussions and the opportunity to read, do puzzles, play cards, and simply enjoy a special visitor. The Hearing Rehab Center located in Greeley has arranged to visit Columbine Commons once a month! If you would like to make an appointment contact Amy in Social Services at ext.7736. The hearing center’s services include checking and cleaning your hearing aids, provide hearing screening, and cleaning the ear(s), if needed. You are welcome to bring a snack to share or any of your own beverage choices! Welcoming Committee Welcoming Committee will meet Friday, January 2nd at 11:00am in the Activity Room. The Welcoming Committee is a group of residents who have volunteered to help new residents transition into the facility. They assist new residents by showing them around and accompanying them in the dining room for the first few times. Blood Pressure Clinic Columbines’ Home Health Care team from Columbine Poudre Home Care visits Columbine Commons every other Wednesday at 1:30 pm. They are set-up in the Activity Room and are available to check your blood pressure! Bowling with Pins On Wednesday’s at 1:30 pm in the Activity Room a group gathers downstairs to bowl! Please come on down and give it a try! *Please note this is different than Wii Bowling. Poker Poker players gather every Tuesday and Thursday at 2:00 pm! The group will be located in any of the following areas; Dining Room, Activity Room, or in the Bar Lounge located on the second floor. *Please Note: Poker games, on occasion, are subject to change of days or time. Game Time for Everyone! If you enjoy playing games of any kind, then please join the other residents who get together on Sunday afternoons from 1:30 – 3pm. New game ideas are always encouraged! January Randi from Columbines Lifestyle Centre Randi is licensed with a nationally recognized organization and is an associate at Columbines’ Lifestyle Centre. She travels to Columbine Commons every Wednesday to instruct the strength and stretch class. There is never a dull moment, as she enjoys having a variety of relaxing exercise movements to help with relaxation while stretching. Please note that this exercise session is held in the Assisted Living Activity Room. All are welcome!! *Please Note: Exercise will now begin at 9:30am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday! Each morning, starting at 9:30am, an exercise session is held to help get your day started! There are a variety of programs the instructor will choose from. *Please Note: In the event that an exercise instructor is not available to lead the group, an exercise video will be shown. “Sit & Be Fit” Exercise Senior Style or “Whoga”, a wheelchair yoga exercise program are the two that are currently being used. Beginner’s Wii Bowling Wii Bowling is an activity that takes little effort and can be played while sitting down! A team member from the activity department will be teaching the course, and would love to have you join them. Beginner’s Wii Bowling class takes place on most Mondays at 3:00pm in the Activity Room. This is a great chance to learn how to Wii Bowl in a fun, safe, and non-judgmental environment. Cranium Crunches Using a variety of fun puzzles and games to help stimulate the brain! The crunching happens on most Mondays at 1:30pm in the Activity Room. We have a few requests to help us better serve you. 1. We have private dining rooms that can be booked with advance notice. These are very nice if you would like a more private dining experience or have more than a few guests. By booking the private dining rooms, we can ensure quicker meal service and be prepared for more guests. Please see the front desk to make arrangements. 2. If you plan on joining your loved one for a meal, advanced notice is appreciated, so we can plan accordingly with meal preparations. As always, we welcome you any time, notice or not. This allows us time to get the correct and current paperwork together to send with you. Please also always sign in and out of the building for all appointments. For appointments you need transportation to and/or from, please give us at least 48 hours advanced (weekday) notice. Only emergency appointments can be scheduled with less than a 48 hour notice.
