Dear Business Owner:
The City of Siloam Springs is pleased to welcome your new business to our community. Before you open your doors to
your new customers, please be aware of the following:
1) While there is no charge for a business license, please remember an approved business license must be acquired
before opening your business.
2) Depending on the nature of your proposed business, several regulations may impact your method of business
operation; we encourage you contact us to reduce potential delays to the opening of your business. These
regulations include, but are not limited to:
a. Arkansas Gas, Plumbing, Mechanical (Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) and Building
Codes;

c. Siloam Springs Code of Ordinance (Zoning);

d. Benton County Health Code.

3) If you plan to prepare or distribute food or beverage items, you must also receive Benton County Health
Department approval prior to opening your new business.
4) Restaurants, nail salons, car washes, etc. shall require a backflow preventer, called a “RPZ”.
5) Restaurants, car washes, detail shops, some mechanics shops, etc., shall require a grease, oil, or sand
interceptor. (Contact Water/Waste Water Dept. for No. 4 & 5: 238-0921)
6) New businesses must obtain an approved sign permit to display any sign within the City. See Code Enforcement
officer (238-0921) for sign permits and review process.
7) Your business is subject to a safety walk-through by a City official prior to business occupancy. (A building permit
is required for any structural changes, and a new certificate of occupancy is required for any change in building
use occupancy.)
8) Your business license must be renewed every September through the City Clerk’s office.
