Corporate Finance & TransactionS We have more than 200 business attorneys who handle a wide variety of matters for leading businesses,
including publicly traded, multinational, emerging growth and private businesses as well as financial institutions, venture capital and private equity
firms, governmental entities, nonprofits and individuals. Our business group focuses on public and private equity and debt financings, mergers and
acquisitions, corporate governance, securities compliance, tax, licensing and technology agreements, bankruptcy and restructuring, employee benefits
and compensation matters, and international business.
Environment, Energy & Resources We partner with businesses, utilities, financial institutions, ports, associations and individuals to facilitate project
development (in such areas as renewables, mines, oil and gas, and manufacturing), commercial transactions (e.g., from power purchase agreements to
mergers and acquisitions), permitting and compliance, legislation, regulation, litigation and policy. Our group addresses every medium from soil to water
to air, every species from endangered to farmed, and every regulatory program at the federal and most state and local levels.
Government Contracts We represent major defense, information technology and civilian agency contractors in bid protests, claims litigation, False
Claims Act cases, suspension and debarment, and internal and government investigations. We also provide counseling on a wide variety of issues,
including commercial item contracting, domestic preference statutes, export controls/ITAR and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Intellectual Property We have one of the largest IP practices in the United States. Our lawyers focus on patent litigation, IP litigation, patent and
trademark prosecution and portfolio management, technology licensing, copyrights, and trade secret and unfair competition counseling for companies in
a wide variety of technologies and industries around the world.
Labor & Employment Our attorneys counsel clients on issues such as employee discipline, background investigations and benefits, requirements
under the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII and COBRA, labor relations, trade secrets, immigration and workers’
compensation. We also handle litigation from small individual disputes to bet-the-company cases and national class actions. We are one of the few firms
to have successfully tried multiple national class actions to defense verdicts.
Litigation We have more than 400 litigators, dozens of whom are recognized by their peers as leading litigation attorneys in the United States. They
manage major matters for prominent businesses in areas such as intellectual property litigation, with a particular emphasis on patent, copyright and
trademark and other IP-related litigation, class action defense, internal investigations, antitrust and unfair competition matters as well as appellate and
construction cases, privacy, insurance coverage, securities, corporate governance and professional liability cases.
Political Law Our attorneys provide advice on campaign finance, government ethics and lobbying regulation. We also provide representation before
congressional committees and in agency and criminal investigations that involve the political process.
Product Liability Our product liability attorneys act as local, national and international trial and coordinating counsel for a large variety of
manufacturers. In addition to trial work, we advise manufacturers on product liability containment and lawsuit avoidance, warnings, warranties, recalls
and compliance with government regulations.
Real Estate We represent all parties involved in commercial real estate, including developers and owners of and lenders to hotels, housing
developments, mixed-use projects, corporate campuses, retirement communities, shopping centers, industrial facilities and public/private developments
nationally and internationally. Our lawyers have a particular focus on several industries, including retail (leasing and subleasing of commercial space), land
use entitlement, senior housing, hospitality and financing.
Trust & Estate Planning Our attorneys assist clients with estate planning, probate and trust administration. We also help coordinate investment
management services for individuals who range from owners of closely held businesses and entrepreneurs to senior officers of public companies.
