Arts Fest

Arts & Cultural Commission, the
Wheeling Arts Fest is an annual
event designed to heighten cultural
and art awareness while fostering
economic development in Wheeling’s downtown area.
The festival takes place in West Virginia Northern
Community College
Square, the Ohio
County Public
Library and West
Virginia
Independence Hall.

The public will enjoy two stages featuring music, theatre,
dance, literary arts,
historical and cultural arts.
The square at West
Virginia Northern
Community College will
house the Artists’ Market
where visitors have the
opportunity to purchase original paintings,
photography, jewelry, pottery, sculptures and watch
skilled artisans demonstrate their talent throughout the
day. 16th Street will feature a myriad of culinary arts to
satisfy every taste. Make sure to stop by the children’s
tent for free classes art and face painting too!

This is an invitation and application for artists, professional or amateur, to exhibit
in the 5th annual Wheeling Arts Fest.
The Wheeling Arts Festival is growing even larger in 2015! The Artists’ Market will provide a unique art event
where the public can purchase the works of local and tri-state artisans and craftspeople.
The Wheeling Arts & Cultural Commission will be coordinating the Artists’ Market, seeking a high standard
of work to showcase the vast talent and creativity of our artistic community. The mission of the organization
is to promote and develop artistic and cultural activities and initiatives that stimulate economic
development and advance the quality of life and vibrancy of the greater Wheeling area.

Presenters are responsible for their own tents, tables, chairs,
and any supplies. Spaces are 10x’10’ at a cost of $50.

Eligibility:
Artists’ Market: This juried market is open to all artists who exhibit and sell work of original concept,
design, and execution. No manufacturers‘ representations will be permitted to exhibited or to be sold at
the Artists’ Market. Participation is subject to approval.
Show Requirements:
• All booths must be fully set-up and ready for customers by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015.
• Exhibitors must set-up and dismantle their own displays and be present during festival hours.
Failure to attend or staff booth will make exhibitors ineligible for future participation.
• West Virginia Consumer Sales Tax (6.5%) must be collected on all sales and remitted to the state.
• Accepted exhibitors who cancel after May 1, 2015 will forfeit $50 space fee.
• Exhibitors agree to display and sell work of the same nature and quality as the images submitted
for jurying.
• All artists are encouraged to demonstrate their art/craft during the Arts Fest but are not required.

Entry Process/Calendar:
• Entry applications must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2015.
• Applications must include ONLY five digital images and one booth image submitted on a
CD. Each digital file should be saved as a JPG or GIF and titled with the artist’s last name and entry number
(e.g. “Name-Image3.jpg”). CD should be labeled with the artist’s full name and contact information.
• Please include a non-refundable application fee of $20 and a self-addressed-stamped-envelope for
return of your images.
• Jury results will be emailed by April 1, 2015.
• Payment in full of the $50 space fee is due upon acceptance by May 1, 2015.
• Last day for refunds, if cancelling, is May 31, 2015.
