9:45 – 10:45 AM Conference Track: Top Trends in Retailing
John Rand, Senior Vice President, Kantar Retail
Almost all retailing today has deep design roots in a Boomer dominated
marketplace that evolved in the 1960s and 70s. This audience redefined the
stores, the activities, the business expectations, and the logistical requirements
so completely that we forget it was not always this way. We are already well
into the next shift of retail and social development – a change that has occurred
about every forty years since the 1860s. Join Rand for a quick tour around the
way everything – from competition to store design to pricing to marketing and
beyond – is shifting with the changing of the shoppers and their behavior, and we
take away some examples of best in class responses that will drive your business
forward.

Dealer Track: Attracting Younger Talent to the Team Business
Bruce Tulgan, Founder/Chairman, Rainmaker Thinking, Inc.
Some of the most pressing issues facing business leaders today are tied directly to
the generation shift in the workforce. The aging Baby Boomers (35% of the workforce)
are creating an age bubble on the older end of the workforce. As they steadily leave,
they take with them skill, knowledge, institutional memory, relationships and the last
vestiges of the old-fashioned work ethic. Tulgan, who last spoke to attendees in 2010,
is back to talk about what it will take to attract and retain the alphabet generations
(Gen X, Y, Z ).
10:45 – 11:45 AM Conference Track: Business Success Through
Everyday Innovation
John Moore, Chief of Wahoo, Brains on Fire
Innovation is daunting for most businesses. The elusive search for the ONE BIG IDEA
to drive continuous growth puts businesses on a never-ending journey to predict the
future. Moore dispels this belief by explaining how being visionary is not predicting the
future, but rather, reacting to the present. Drawing from his marketing experience at
Starbucks Coffee and Whole Foods Market, Moore shows how a steady stream of
small, everyday ideas result in lasting business success.
Dealer Track: Make Change Work: Staying Nimble, Relevant
and Engaged in a World of Constant Change
Randy Pennington, Owner of Pennington Performance Group, Author of Make
Change Work
A fundamental shift is occurring in how business is conducted. Change no longer
influences the environment - it is the environment. That’s why this session is so
important - it provides practical tools to help leaders and organizations meet the
challenges of continuous change. Participants in this fast-paced session will learn:
• Seven change leadership strategies to turn intentions into action that enables your
team to change more quickly and more often, and
• How to identify behaviors of your team that are blocking change.

championship layout that provides a variety of interesting holes to delight golfers. To

Analytics: Tracking Today’s Consumers
Through Indoor Location Analytics
Anne Marie Stephen, Strategic Retail Innovation Advisor, AMS Retail Innovation
Advisory
Location. Location. Location. Indoor Location Analytics is on the rise. Where your
consumers are within the physical space of your location provides deep insights
to measure how consumers navigate and engage offline environments. This
presentation showcases the new and emerging technologies that capture this
information, how they work and what information they can deliver for retailers and
brands. Mobile, beacons, cameras, magnetics and even light bulbs are helping
retailers measure in-store shopper behavior.
