Check These Out
Quilts of Thimble Creek by Kooler Design Studios, Leisure Arts
Thimble Creek is the name of a quilt store in California. This pretty book features 13 quilters who
have a couple of paragraphs about starting to quilt. Then there are patterns for each. The designs are
pretty average, but it’s an interesting presentation.

Toppers by Lynda Milligan & Nancy Smith, Possibilities
This 1998 book escaped the summer cull, because I thought the patterns might be handy for
Christmas sale items. The designs are classic or cute. Instructions are a little brief. Best are the
drawings of trees and bears and snowmen for appliqué.

Christmas Sale Results
Here are the stats on the Christmas sale.
92 items were donated. 49 of those items sold. The guild received $1,665.
130 items were offered on consignment from our members. The guild got $315.70 from those sales.
Thanks to the Quilted Raven, we had a venue for December sales of donated items. 6 more items
sold there for an extra $310.
Because one board member is number oriented (Charlotte), we know that this year:
 Christmas items had about the same sales as non-Christmas.
 Quilts (lap or full) did not sell.
 Hot pads, runners, and advent calendars sold the best.
More Retreat Photos
Elise sent in 6 more wonderful photos
of the November retreat. They are posted
in our web photo album. And here is one
