Students can keep track of each scene and take they film with a date/time stamp. Here is an example: Student A is ready to start filming her first scene. She taps (twice) on EDIT INFO until the keyboard shows on the Clapboard App and fills in the information. In this case, it is scene 1 take 1. She then has a partner hold the iPad with the clapboard in front of the student with another iPad (the iPad that will shoot the video). The student with the clapboard app taps the black and white striped clapper to make the sound. This officially marks the beginning of the scene. This sound will be recorded by the iPad doing the filming so that when the video is edited in iMovie (already on most iPads), students can find the beginning of scenes and takes. It is a simple app that replaces the traditional clapboard. As the scene is being filmed, a mistake is made so the filming stops. Instead of deleting the scene then, filming can continue with a simple edit in Clapboard. Tap edit info, and write ‘2’ under ‘take’ and now the second attempt at the scene can be filmed. Later, when all these scenes are transferred to iMovie, it will be easy to see which scene is which. Students may want to keep some aspects of the TAKE 1 scene, and edit that in to their PSA later. This may seem very hard, but iMovie is quite easy to use. Kids in most grades love to use iMovie. StoryBoard Worksheet for PSA using Clapboard and iMovie iPad 1:1 by Ms. Katherine Katsenis Scene Creation Checklist: 1. Divide your public service announcement into 8 sections. The first section will be the title screen and the last section will be the credits. Think about what the 6 scenes in your iMovie will be. Think about the lesson you wrote about in your narrative. How could you explain that to strangers in 6 scenes? The 6 main scenes in my PSA will be: ! ______________________________ ! ______________________________ ! ______________________________ ! _______________________________ ! _______________________________ ! ________________________________ StoryBoard Worksheet for PSA using Clapboard and iMovie iPad 1:1 by Ms. Katherine Katsenis 2.
