Employee Update For UXC Employees—Sydney, NSW 22 September 2014 UXC SYDNEY BUSINESS UNITS TO CO‐LOCATE Hello Everyone,
It is with great pleasure that I
announce we have finalised a 7
year lease (with a 3 year op on)
agreement with Colliers Internaonal at 135 King Street in the
heart of Sydney’s CBD for the
new co-located UXC Sydney
offices.
This move will see UXC Corporate, UXC Connect, UXC Consul ng, UXC Oxygen, UXC Eclipse
and UXC Keystone offices coloca ng into the one building.
Unfortunately UXC Red Rock s ll
have another 2 years le on
their current lease which means
they will not be co-loca ng to
135 King Street.
Please see further informa on in
this first communica on on the
decision process for the selecon of 135 King Street. I am sure
you’ll find this informa on interes ng and informa ve; and I
trust there will be a sense of
an cipa on building as we begin
this landmark ini a ve for our
business in Sydney.
Regards, Paul Timmins Chief Opera ng Officer
UXC Limited
UXC Perspec ve This is an exci ng me for UXC, where for some years we have been commi ed to a strategy of co-loca ng our business units into shared premises wherever this was possible and
made good business sense.
Some of the key benefits of this include: sharing of infrastructure; increased scale leading to
poten ally be er nego a ng power with landlords; realisa on of greater synergies between business units; and propaga on of a sense of employees being part of a more unified
UXC team. A co-located office will present greater BU business opportuni es and will
strengthen the unified UXC in Sydney.
In Perth, Canberra and Melbourne we have completed major co-loca ons and now in Sydney all UXC businesses will be in the one premise except for UXC Red Rock due to their current leasing arrangement.
The Decision UXC worked closely with our contracted leasing agents, Cushman & Wakefield and our contracted Interior design company, Insight Projects, to narrow a list of 25 poten al new buildings, down to 10, and then down to a top 5.
The top 5 buildings were then shown to the “New Sydney office commi ee” which was
established, consis ng of a representa ve from each of your business units. The final five
buildings had; three located in the CBD, one in North Sydney and one in St Leonards. Feedback was taken from each representa ve, and each was asked to rate the buildings on their
loca on, natural light, aspect/views, lobby standard, building’s culture/café/ameni es,
bathrooms and other offered facili es.
These ra ngs and feedback allowed us to narrow the Top 5 down to two facili es, 201 Elizabeth and 135 King St.
UXC requested final proposals from each building to do the final evalua on. Due to a superior financial offering 135 King St was selected as the preferred loca on .
135 King Street, Sydney is located in the energe c heart of Sydney’s CBD. The property is an
A-grade office tower and below the Tower is the Glasshouse Shopping Centre, a three level
retail centre in the heart of Pi Street Mall that includes 22 speciality retail tenancies. The
building has bike racks, lockers and showers in the basement for the cyclist enthusiasts.
And for those travelling by train the property can be accessed undercover from Town Hall
sta on or above ground from Wynyard sta on.
UXC will occupy 3 floors in the building, level 19, 20 and 21. Each floor will have a connec ng internal stair case which will allow business units to collaborate effec vely and create a more open working environment. The fit out will be brand new, with a lot of natural
light and thus good views over the city.
