Novice and Intermediate events will be held in conjunction with each age group’s event. Requirements are below:
Group E (9 & U) Novice Boys/Girls: 1M and 3M – Any 4 Dives
Group D (10 & 11) Novice Boys/Girls 1M and 3M – Any 5 Dives
Group C (12 & 13) Novice Boys/Girls 1M and 3M – Any 6 Dives
Group B (14 & 15) Novice Boys/Girls 1M and 3M – Any 7 Dives
Group A (16 – 18) Novice Boys/Girls 1M and 3M – Any 7 Dives
Intermediate Boys/Girls 1M and 3M – Any 6 Dives
Intermediate Boys/Girls 1M and 3M – Any 7 Dives
Intermediate Boys/Girls 1M and 3M – Any 8 Dives
Intermediate Boys/Girls 1M and 3M – Any 8 Dives
*Novice and Intermediate divers are allowed to use – and repeat with different positions – dive numbers 001 and 002 (line-ups) and
100 and 200 (jumps), Degree of Difficulty = 1.0.
The “Diver Survivor” single dive elimination tournament: Participating AAU diver s will be paired in a bracket and
seeded by the dd of the listed first round dive. First round difficulty may not be less than 2.7. After the first round, dives
may be announced “on the board” but must be in the FINA dd table. After each round, the diver in a pair with the highest
points for his/her dive advances to the next round and will be paired in the next bracket. Order of dives in a bracket pair is
by coin toss. No repeated dives. If a bye is needed, it will be given by draw. Scoring will be traditional. No age
requirements.
This event is sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union of the U. S., Inc. All participants must have a current AAU membership.
AAU membership may not be included as part of the entry fee to the event. AAU Youth Athlete membership must be obtained before the competition begins except
where the event operator has a laptop available with an internet connection. Be Prepared: Adult and Non Athlete memberships are no longer instant and cannot be
applied for at event. Please allow 10 days for membership to be processed. Participants are encouraged to visit the AAU web site www.aausports.org to obtain their
membership.
