differentcountries,attendedtothiseventandsupportwith
highvaluablethoughtsandexchangeofexperience.
TheEuropeanCommissionpresenteditsviewonthefuture
ofSystemiceco‐innovationandhighlightedtheimportance
ofcooperationandattestedthatforhavingalowimpacton
societyandeconomy,isnotenoughdoingmorewithless
butdoingdifferentlytodobetteranduseless.
Thepanelspeakersunderlinedhowimportantsystemiceco‐
innovationisandpresentedexamplesandsolutionsthat
couldbeofrelevancefordecisionmakingatpolicyand
researchlevel.
Onthediscussiontables,theparticipantshadthepossibility
ofexchangeexperiencesandideasandestablishgood
networkingconnectionsforpossibleprojectcooperation.

At the Final Conference ECO‐INNOVERA has presented the findings of its
systemic
approach on eco‐innovation in Copenhagen (European Green
Capital 2014) to more than 100 key players from 24 countries, from policy
makers and scientists to SME‐representatives and partner networks in
researchanddevelopmentineco‐innovation.

Joint calls and the transnational research. At the end of the project period,
final ECO‐INNOVERA had 12 jointly funded projects running (focus on
sustainableeco‐innovationandsystemicfeatures).

• Try to support on the long term demonstration platforms. There is a gap
between research and industrialization; need to support more pilots and
demonstrationprojects.
SESSIONIVSHAPINGANDSCALINGFUTURECOOPERATION
The partners in ECO‐INNOVERA have liaised through‐out the project with
relatednetworksandprojectstoidentifycommongroundandopportunities
for synergy and joint action. The key networks were given the floor during
theFinalConferencewiththeaimtodiscussmutualareasofinterest,identify
starting points for future co‐operation, and translate these into concrete
action. 9 Areas for cooperation were discussed in the final `Open Space`
Session; all discussions resulted in starting points and a list of committed
organisationsandexpertsperarea.Forsomeoftheareas,concretefollowup
actionsfor2015wereagreedupon.
Theidentifiedareasforjointactionwere:
1)Virtual call for tenders, 2)Systemic Innovation Think Tank, 3)Education
and training for systemic approaches, 4)Platform for MS coordination of

TheECO‐INNOVERApartnerscooperateinresearchforeco‐innovationtosupporttheuptakeofavailablegreen
technologies,practicesandproducts,andalternativehumanbehaviouralandorganisationalpatternsatthe
levelofcompany,sector,value‐chain,economyorsociety.Theresultswillincreasethecapabilities,necessary
tobringaboutsystemicchangesthatleadtopreservationofnaturalresources,climateandbio‐diversity,but
alsogeneratenewpossibilitiesofbusinessesandjobs.
TheECO‐INNOVERANetworkanno2015buildsupontheresultsofitstransnationalcooperationduringthe
previous4‐years.Ithasaflexiblestructure,bothgeographicalandintermsofcontent.Weoperatecloselywith
awiderangeofnetworksofdifferentscopesandsectors,weliaiseonaregularbasiswiththeEuropean
Commissionandwehaveanoccasionallookatthedevelopmentandexamplesofeco‐innovationincountries
outsideEurope.
Objectivesofthecontinuedcooperationin2015– 2016:
1) Increasetheuptakeofavailablegreentechnologies,practices,andproducts,andalternativehuman
behaviouralandorganisationalpatternsonEuropean,nationalandregionallevelsbytailored
communicationonbestpracticesfromtheongoingECO‐INNOVERAProjectsandothers;
2) Identificationofprioritiesforsystemicapproachanddisseminationofthesystemiceco‐innovation
concept;
3) Expandknowledgeandcapabilitiesforeffectivetransitionpolicies.
4) Think‐TankandBestPracticesAssessment(intensivemutualcooperationwithkeystakeholders)
5) Supportonthedevelopmentofasystemiceco‐innovationagendaofMember‐States,national/regional
fundingorganisationsandtheEuropeanCommission
