Edmonton Nordic Biathlon Centre
Known locally as Roger’s Range, named in honour of Roger Tetrault. Roger’s
vision and determined efforts made the range a reality.
The Range is located in the Strathcona Science Park on 17 Street, between
Baseline Road (101 Avenue) and Yellowhead Trail (highway 16) adjacent to the
Sunridge Ski Club. After turning off 17th street, turn right immediately after
crossing the railroad tracks at the Biathlon sign. Google Strathcona Science

Biathlon Alberta day memberships – required for those athletes who are not
members of Biathlon Alberta or other provincial/national biathlon governing body.

* Junior Boys/Girls medals will be awarded to eligible athletes competing in
Calforex Cup categories Dev 2 Boys and Dev 2 Girls.
Registration Close date is Wednesday January 21, 2015 at 23:59.
NO REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED after the close date!
Cancellation Policy:
If event is cancelled prior to the weekend of competition (by midnight Friday
January 23rd, 2015) and cannot be rescheduled, competitors will receive a 50%
refund of their registration fees from Biathlon Alberta. If a competition must be
cancelled on the weekend of the event due to cold weather or force majeure, no
refund of registration fees will be made.

Meals:
There are no food services at the ENSC Biathlon Range. There is a concession
in the Sunridge downhill ski lodge across the parking lot from the range. Hot food
will available for volunteers only.
Banquet:
A Banquet will be held at the Capilano Christian Assembly on 9333 50th Street
from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. Banquet will be $20 per plate/$15 per plate for those under
15 years of age.

About the Event: This event will combine the Western Canadian Championships
with an Alberta (Calforex) Cup event. While, for the most part, competition
categories and regulations mirror one another between the two events, there are
some notable exceptions.

athletes will be that of an Alberta Pursuit

**All Master athletes will, for competition and Calforex Cup purposes, be
grouped into two categories – Master Men and Master Women.
Registration Advice for Under 17's (non-IBU categories):
• Out-of-province Under 17 athletes may register in any Calforex Under-17
category.
• Jr. B/G (13/14) should register as DEV 2 B/G (Under 17) to be eligible for
Western's medals.
• Sr. B/G (15/16) should register as Sr. B/G (Under 17) to be eligible for
Western's medals
• Under-15 athletes may register in DEV 1 or either Air Rifle category
(ENSC has spare air rifles*).

Special Regulations:
Penalties:
Air Rifle, Dev, and Sport categories – ski a 100m penalty loop.
All other classes ski a 150m penalty loop.
Rifle Carrying:
Dev and Air Rifle categories athletes shall have their rifles placed on and
removed from the firing line by their coaches.
Senior Boys/Girls carry their rifles only on the range.
Bolt open, magazine out regulations apply to all categories according to National,
Provincial and IBU regulations.

Waxing Facilities: Indoors waxing will be available at the Goldstick Pavilion
Friday night from 6-9 pm, Saturday morning 7-9 am, Saturday afternoon 3-5 pm
and Sunday morning 7-9 am. (Entrance is on 101 ave. aprox. ½ km east of 50th

Generators will be available for open air waxing on site. Note there is no indoor
wax facility on site.
Awards:
Awards will be presented after the Competitions at the Banquet on Saturday
evening and on site at the ENSC Biathlon Centre on Sunday.
