The Remodeled Chalet
Established
1976
A non-profit, nondenominational, year
around camp located
along the Root River
in southeastern Minnesota on 200 acres of
woods, trails, and wildlife.
Ironwood serves over
20,000 people annually.
Our new chalet is open for business, and with the arrival of
snow, our snow tubing season is in full swing! A fire in the
summer of 2014 made the rebuilding of the warming house
necessary. But now, more than just a warming house, it is a
cozy year-round rental facility for groups.
Our many thanks to the volunteers, staff and donators that
made this project possible:

Bits from Bob...
Once a year, I seem to lose my voice as I love to sing at the
top of my lungs all those Christmas songs. Have you ever sung
that word ‘Rejoice’ as loud as possible? The words of Christmas
songs should ring in our hearts all year long. “Truly He taught us to love one another, His
Law is love and His gospel is peace.” Of course, I watch the ‘Sound of Music’ each year.
And the words “A dream that will need all the love you can give, every day of your life, for
as long as you live.” Don’t you have a dream? I have experienced many.
2015 How to have the Best year ever! I will share a few of my guidelines. 1. Put
God first in your life and know you are loved unconditionally by the Creator of the universe. 2. Treasure your family. Show and tell them you love them each day. 3. Never let
a day go by without encouraging someone. 4. Make sure your words are true, kind and
necessary. 5. Spend some time each day in prayer and Bible reading.
2014 review – We ended the year giving PRAISE and THANKS to God for all of you
who supported the ranch. Our mission of Spreading JOY and Changing Lives was
evident throughout the year. 2015, being our 39th year, we have only gratitude to
express to the thousands of people who have invested in the mission of the Ranch and keep it succeeding.
December was our biggest donation month ever exceeding $50,000, which met our financial obligations!
2014 Phone-A-Thon – Ironwood was in need of a fundraiser before the end of the year. For the first time in the near
40-year history of the Ranch we did a Phone-A-Thon. We had a matching grant of $10,000 and we were blessed beyond
our expectations. Besides the $11,000 that was donated we appreciated the many positive comments. Thank you.
Disabled Adult Camps – We are hosting three Disabled Adult Camps this year. May 30th, August 13-15
and October 10th. For more information or to register, email Jan at: [email protected].
Pavers – You have until July 2015 to get your name on a paver. To date, we have 225 names with a goal of 300.
Pavers are $100 with three lines available for your message. Call Jode 507-533-4315 [email protected]
Staff Opening – Joanne McGulpin who has been a faithful and diligent office employee the past 4 years,
has let us know that she is being called back to working in missions. So, sometime over the next several months
we will be seeking a new office manager. If you know of anyone who may be interested, let us know.
Family – Our family like yours continues to grow up and our girls are making new chapters in their lives.
Jode, my wife, continues to thrive in the Ranch office. Hannah, our oldest will graduate from
Northwestern University this Spring and has been accepted into the Mayo doctorate program
of Physical Therapy. The triplets, Lydia, Birdie and Abby are all Juniors at Northwestern.
What a blessing.
The new Ironwood Board
of Directors started their
roles and responsibilities
January 1. The Ranch is
grateful that this board
has been raised up to continue our mission and focus. They are all visionaries and are excited to see
the Ranch expand so we
can spread more JOY and
see more lives changed.
Rob Gregory is not on the
board but is our facilitator and Hannah Bardwell
will join the board in the
spring. They all ask for
your prayers for wisdom
and direction.

Operation Welcome Home Tracy Bashore
Welcome
We are looking forward to serving more military families. To
date we have served about 625 families, including their children
and spouses the number would reach over 2000. The challenge
ahead is to reach another 150 families this year.
SPONSOR A SOLDIER: Please consider donating $275 per
military family. We have listed below the weekends. We are
also looking for your help to serve at the candlelight dinner
each Saturday night from 4:30-7:00 PM.
“Our family had a wonderful time at the military weekend. Being a military family we
have our share of challenges not to mention
we just moved and then my husband left for
25 days of training. So when we arrived we
were exhausted and overwhelmed. If someone had given my husband the option to resign from the military I would have jumped
at the chance. After attending the Operation Welcome Home retreat with others who
appreciate our sacrifices and challenges, I
CHANGED MY MIND. I am now refreshed
along with my husband and will be the Army
wife God has called my to be. From the
bottom of our hearts, we say thank you.”
