Discuss how the Gospel Outline helps us stay on track when we share our
faith.
Review Gospel Outline with motions.
Remind class that we will build on this outline, adding scriptures and illustrations to it.
Recite Scriptures: Romans 6:23 and John 3:16.
Ask participants (children and adults) how they used their Take-Home Truth
(Bare Bones Bookmark) to share the Gospel Outline with others.
Discuss Truth: The Gospel
Find out what your students already know about the Gospel. Guide children
to the understanding of “Trusting in Jesus Alone” by writing key words from
their answers on a marker board.
t In two minutes, write what you think it takes to get to Heaven.
t Share what you wrote. (Write their answers on the marker board.)
t What does the word “Gospel” mean?
t Which books in the Bible are referred to as the Gospels?
t What is the Good News of the Gospel?
t What does it mean to be saved?
t What are we saved from?
Memorize Truth: Gospel in a Nutshell
We can share the basic message of the Gospel in a very simple way. It is
called the Gospel in a Nutshell. It includes the basic truths of the Gospel
- that is, what we need to know to receive the gift of eternal life. It is a
very easy way to share the Good News with our family and friends.
Memorize together the Gospel in a Nutshell and motions. (This is the Christ
Section, in Unit 11.) To help with memorization, you can emphasize the
underlined words — died and rose, to pay and to purchase.
Gospel in a Nutshell (Christ Section)
Jesus is God.
He came from Heaven to earth.
He lived a perfect life.
He died on the cross and rose from the dead,
to pay the penalty for our sins and to purchase a place in Heaven for us.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 KJV
Note: You can use the Gospel in a Nutshell cards and strips (on CD) to help
in memorizing the Christ Section of the Gospel Presentation.
Scripture Truth: John 3:16
Practice John 3:16. Then use children’s names
to personalize it.
For God so loved _________ (child’s name), that
He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus), that if
_________ (child’s name) believes in Jesus,
_________ (child’s name) will not perish, but
_________ (child’s name) will have everlasting
life.

Dramatize Truth: Farley Hears the Gospel
Explain that Farley is very sick. Ask the children:
What can we tell Farley so that he could know the Good News and go to
Heaven?
Farley, you’re a good friend. I want to share with you some Good News. I
found out that the Bible teaches that Jesus is God. He came from Heaven
to earth. He lived a perfect life. He died on the cross and rose from the
dead to pay the penalty for our sins and to purchase a place in Heaven
for us.
Farley, think about what I have shared. I’ll let you rest for now.
Allow children to practice sharing the Gospel in a Nutshell with Farley and
with each other. Also, one child can pretend to be Farley, while another
shares the Gospel. If time permits, switch roles.
Illustrate Truth: Scavenger Hunt
We can use anything to begin a conversation and share the Gospel with
someone. Like, I can use my phone and say: “My phone reminds me that
God is always ready to talk with me. I can call on Him at any time. Do you
know that Jesus is God? He came from Heaven to earth …” Continue

Gospel in a Nutshell and end with John 3:16. The Bible says, “For God so
loved the world (that’s you) that He gave His …”
See my pencil. It reminds me that God keeps a written record of my sins.
But see this eraser? I’m so glad that Jesus erased my sins. Jesus is God …
Practice more examples together, using the Gospel in a Nutshell and
John 3:16.
Let’s each find an object this week. Practice talking about it in a way that
allows you to begin to share the Gospel with someone. Be creative. Bring
that object to Kids’ EE next week and demonstrate how you shared the
Gospel in a Nutshell (Christ Section) by talking about the object.
Craft/Take-Home Truth: Gospel in a Nutshell
Children practice with team leaders using their Passports, Kids’ EE Tracts
and/or Farley Sequencing Cards. Children who finish crafts early can continue practicing the Gospel Presentation.
Gospel in a Nutshell craft options
1) Gospel in a paper Nutshell, with Gospel strips (on CD)
2) Gospel in a real nutshell (walnut, peanut, etc.) with Gospel strips *
3) Miniature television screen made from empty matchbox with slit on
each side. Pull Gospel strip through the slits and tell the Gospel in a
Nutshell.
* Please Note: Some people are allergic to nuts. Peanut allergies can be
fatal.
Encourage all participants to use their Take-Home Truth
to share the Gospel in a Nutshell
with family and friends.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross to save us from our sins. We
love You, Jesus, and want to share Your love with others. Amen
