PROPOSED REMOVAL OF PARKING SPACES IN VARIOUS ROADS TO ALLOW FOR THE
INSTALLATION OF SECURE BICYCLE PARKING HANGERS
PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF LIMITED TIME PARKING PLACES IN DEVANE WAY
(Note: This notice is about removing a parking place and some lengths of parking space in various
roads described below so as to provide space for the installation of secure bicycle parking hangers
instead. This notice is also about providing limited time parking places in Devane Way so as to provide
a drop off and pick up area for visitors to a leisure centre. Objections and comments may be made –
see paragraph 6.)
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth propose to make
the Lambeth (Brixton “E”) (Parking Places) (No. -) Order 201-, the Lambeth (Brixton Hill East) (Parking
Places) (No. -) Order 201-, the Lambeth (Clapham “C”) (Parking Places) (No. -) Order 201-, the
Lambeth (Kennington) (Parking Places) (No. -) Order 201-, the Lambeth (Poets Corner) (Parking
Places) (No. -) Order 201-, the Lambeth (Stockwell) (Parking Places) (No. -) Order 201- and the
Lambeth (Free Parking Places) (Limited Time) (No. -) Order 201- under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124
of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The general effect of the Orders would be to:(1) remove the residents’ parking place situated outside Nos. 161 and 163 Fentiman Road;
(2) remove a 2.5 metre length of parking space at each of the follow locations:(a)

Arodene Road outside No. 2;
Beechdale Road (i) outside No. 5; and (ii) outside No. 42;
Chester Way (i) outside No. 34; and (ii) outside No. 49;
Fentiman Road (i) outside No. 2; (ii) outside No. 62; and (iii) outside No. 94;
Hurst Street (i) outside No. 2; and (ii) outside No. 24;
Larkhall Rise outside No. 86;
Leander Road (i) adjacent to the side of No. 2 Medora Road; (ii) outside No. 17 Leander
Road; and (iii) outside No. 146 Leander Road;
(h) Ravensdon Street outside No. 24;
(i) Stirling Road (i) outside No. 7; and (ii) outside No. 29;
(j) Sudbourne Road (i) outside No. 3; (ii) outside No. 38; and (iii) outside Nos. 113 and 115;
(The parking spaces referred to in paragraph 2(2) above are all residents’ parking spaces except for the
ones at the locations referred to in sub-paragraphs (a), (e)(i) and (g)(i) which are shared-use
residents’/pay and display parking spaces.)
(3) provide two limited time parking places in Devane Way, outside the West Norwood Health and
Leisure Centre (the parking places would operate at any time and be for the use of vehicles free
of charge for periods of up to 10 minutes, no return in 1 hour).
3. The Orders are necessary to make space for the provision of secure bicycle parking hangers for
residents who do not have the space and/or ability to securely park their bicycle in or within a
reasonable distance from their home, with the aim of reducing theft, improving the street scene and
encouraging people to choose cycling as a safe secure mode of transport. The limited time parking
places are necessary to provide a drop off and pick up area for visitors to the leisure centre.

5. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Orders are available for inspection
between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm (excluding bank/public holidays) until the last day of a period of six
weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council
decide not to make the Orders, at the offices of Lambeth Council’s Transportation Group, 2nd Floor,

6. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing
and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and should be sent to Barbara
