The Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA)
is the most widely recognised initial qualification in teacher training in its
field, and in many countries it is a pre-requisite for employment. TBI is the
only centre in Indonesia approved by the University of Cambridge ESOL
(English for Speakers of Other Languages).

What is Celta
CELTA (Certiﬁcate in Teaching English to Speakers of
Other Languages)
CELTA is by far the most widely recornised of all initial
English Language Teaching (ELT) qualiﬁcations.
Worldwide, over 900 CELTA courses run and over
12.000 candidates gain the certiﬁcate every year.
As the only centre in Indonesia approved by the
University of Cambridge ESOL (English for Speakers of
Other Language). TBI oﬀers CELTA intensive courses,
120 hours, administered by Cambridge English
Language Assessment. The course is primarily
practical, and develops an awerness of learners and
teachers and the teaching and learning context,
language analysis and awerness of learners and
planning, resources and developing teaching skills and
professionalism.
Who is it for?
The CELTA is designed for participans who want to
teach English but have little or no experience in
teaching. Candidates must be at least 18 years old at
the start of the course and must have an awerness of
languages and competence in English, both written
and spoken.

The 60-Hour Young Learner Extension to the CELTA
course is aimed at CELTA holders who want to build on
and transfer skills and knowledge from their CELTA
course to the area of teaching young learners.
