Condition of Enrolment - Privacy National Student Register Under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law, all students enrolled in an approved nursing or midwifery course of study must be registered for the duration of study or until they are no longer enrolled in an approved course of study. The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, working in partnership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) maintains this Student Register and reflects the profile of students as advised by Australia’s education providers. The Student Register is not public and, in relation to students, is limited to recording student health impairment matters or criminal convictions of a serious nature. AHPRA has no role to play in the academic progress or conduct of students which continues to be a core responsibility of educational providers. Providing student details to AHPRA is a condition placed upon the Institute as your education provider, and therefore it is a condition of entry into this course that you consent to the release of your details accordingly. Further information can be found at the AHPRA Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia website: http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/ Vocational Placement Student details are provided to Health Care facilities for the purposes of vocational placement. Vocational placement is a core element of this course and therefore it is a condition of enrolment that you consent to the release of your information accordingly. Advanced Standing (RPL) Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) provides students an opportunity to have their current skills and competencies assessed and potentially recognised in how they may relate to units within the course they are preparing to undertake. RPL can exempt students from formally studying units recognised as having already been achieved via some other method or previous study. However, there is a cost related to obtaining RPL and the process requires students to gather evidence confirming their competency. A content specialist will advise students in this task and students are encouraged to enquire if they think they may qualify. If the education provider grants an overseas student RPL, it may impact on student visa conditions through a shortening of the student's course. It is important International students discuss this option with the Institute prior to enrolment. For RPL enquiries students can contact the RPL Team at [email protected] or for overseas students, the Institute’s International Student Centre on [email protected] Please note: Students wishing to gain recognition of an international nursing qualification are advised to contact the AHPRA Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia: http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/ For further information: PHONE International Student Centre +61 7 5581 8398 MAIL International Student Centre, TAFE Queensland Gold Coast, PO Box 5547, GCMC, QLD 9726 VISIT International Student Centre, 91-99 Scarborough Street, Southport FAX International Student Centre on +61 7 5581 8225 EMAIL [email protected] WEB http://i.tafegoldcoast.edu.au/ After payment of the non refundable enrolment fee with the enrolment form and signed acceptance of course offer documentation, the student's place will be confirmed by the Institute.
