ROBITUSSIN DM Pfizer Consumer Healthcare COMPOSITION PACKAGING Active ingredients per (5 ml) teaspoonful: Syrup: 4 oz. (118 ml). Dosage cup provided. Guaifenesin USP 100 mg, Dextromethorphan hydrobromide USP 10 mg. INDICATIONS Helps loosen phlegm and thin bronchial secretions to make coughs more productive. Temporarily relieves cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation as may occur with a cold. SIDE EFFECTS/PRECAUTIONS Do not take this product for persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or if cough is accompanied by excessive phlegm unless directed by a physician. A persistent cough may be a sign of a serious condition. If cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by fever, rash or persistent headache, consult a physician. Do not take this product if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients. PREGNANCY AND LACTATION As with any drug, if the patient is pregnant or nursing a baby she should seek the advise of a medical professional before using this product. DRUG INTERACTIONS Patients must not use this product if they are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. STORAGE Store at 20-25°C DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION Adults and children 12 years and over: 2 teaspoonfuls every 4 hours. Children 6 years to under 12 years: 1 teaspoonful every 4 hours. They must not exceed 4 doses in a 24 hour period. Children under 6 years: Do not use.
