Donizetti's sparkling comic opera, "The Elixir of Love" follows simple yet fervent country bumpkin,
Nemorino, who is hopelessly in love with Adina, an independent and attractive yet fickle landowner.
With the dashing Sergeant Belcore also competing for Adina's affections, Nemorino turns in desperation
to traveling con man, Doctor Dulcamara and his "elixir of love" (really a bottle of cheap wine).
Ducamara's faux love potion causes a domino effect of hilarious plot twists and surprising romantic turns
in this masterpiece of beguiling arias and intoxicating duets.
