Thank You! Muito Obrigado!
Thank you to everyone who made this
anniversary such a special event! I am very
grateful for everyone who worked in order to
make this event a success. Thank you in
particular to Elizabeth Vieira who as chairwoman
of the 100th Anniversary did an outstanding job
and without her support and hard work this event
would not have run so smoothly! Thank you to
Bishop Tobin and the clergy that came to
celebrate with us. Thank to Father Henry Arruda
and his godson and organist, Chris Oliveira, who
lead our choir for this grand celebration. Thank
you to the choir for their understanding and great
effort in helping us to enter more fully into the
celebration.
Thank you to Elizabeth Vieira for her
generous donation of the new chasuble worn by
Bishop Tobin at this 100th Anniversary
Celebration in memory of her loving parents,
Clarence and Mary Silva.
Thank you to Helen Camille for her generous
donation of one of the new ciboria in memory of
her beloved husband, Gilbert. Also, thank you to
Natalia Pimentel, Fatima Carreiro, and Teri Dias
for the gift of the other ciborium given in memory
of their father, Manuel Ribeiro.
We are grateful to the Arruda family for their
generous gift of a 100 year old ciborium that has
been refinished and restored to its original beauty
to commemorate our 100th Anniversary.
Thank you to Rebello Funeral Home for so
generously printing the program for the 100th
Anniversary.
I would be remiss if I did not mention a very
big thank you to AZORES EXPRESS for
donating the Round Trip Airfare to Portugal for
the 100th Anniversary Raffle!
Also, thank you to Signature Printing for the
signage used at the Crowne Plaza and DJ Joe
Freitas from All Star Entertainment for the music!
Thank you to the St. Francis Xavier Band for
their presence and musical performance at the
banquet!
I am very grateful for the numerous
parishioners and benefactors that support our
parish family. In particular, I would like to thank
Liberato Carreiro da Mota, who has recently
passed away, for all his support to me as pastor.
In a special way his presence was felt at the
Anniversary Mass, as the flowers were all given
in his memory. May he rest in peace.
